WINE + SPIRITS

HIGH TEA HERE’S A CONCOCTION TO WARM YOUR HEART— AND MAYBE CURE WHAT AILS YOU. Fernet Branca, the Italian liqueur quaffed by Michael Caine in the 2012 movie The Dark Knight Rises, is said to be good for stomachaches. It’s made from a secret recipe with 27 herbs and other ingredients. But if you own some, you can combine it with English breakfast tea and honey, as they like to do in the Caribbean—and that recipe’s no secret! It’s happily shared by Warren Bobrow, creator of the Cocktail Whisperer blog, from his collection of “restorative” drinks, just in time for the coming autumn chill. (For more such recipes, see Bobrow's book Apothecary Cocktails.)
