Training is More Fun When You Share It With Friends WAIMA will be opening its doors to students and their friends from 16 – 18 November for side by side training. This gives you a chance to pass on your knowledge, show your friends where you train and have some fun. Your special guest will receive a free gift certificate entitling them to a free uniform, free sign-up and two weeks free training! Remember, if your friend joins WAIMA you will be entitled to a point for the referral rewards

program with double the points up for grabs until December. These classes are open to kids and adults, all you need to do is grab an invitation from reception and have your friend fill out their details and bring it with them on the day. Please note that if your friend is under 18 they will need their parent to sign the bottom of the invitation. You will also need to book your friend into a class, please see reception for booking sheets.

WAIMA Sparring & Forms Tournament On Saturday, 19 November WAIMA will hold its second Sparring and Forms tournament. This is a great opportunity for students to show off their skills, build confidence and compete in a friendly safe environment. There are three main categories; 1. TOUCH CONTACT SPARRING 2. KATA 3. DEMONSTRATION

Students are put into age and experience divisions and judges give points for shots landing, speed and control. Students are able to pick a kata of their choice and points are given out for technique, presence and the difficulty of the kata chosen. Students can work in teams or individually to display their choice of martial arts moves, weapons are able to be used in this category.

This tournament promises to be a fun day, we are all looking forward to seeing an awesome display from all who participate.

Grading Preparation Seminar Green, Brown and Black belt students who are preparing for their next grading are invited to a preparation seminar on Saturday, 12 November.

Seminars run for an hour and a half and go over the different areas students will be tested on and help prepare them for the day.

Seminars are held at the beginning of each month and cost $55 each or $140 to attend all three. Bookings are essential, please see reception for details.
