Training is More Fun When You Share It With Friends WAIMA will be opening its doors to students and their friends from 16 – 18 November for side by side training. This gives you a chance to pass on your knowledge, show your friends where you train and have some fun. Your special guest will receive a free gift certificate entitling them to a free uniform, free sign-up and two weeks free training! Remember, if your friend joins WAIMA you will be entitled to a point for the referral rewards

program with double the points up for grabs until December. These classes are open to kids and adults, all you need to do is grab an invitation from reception and have your friend fill out their details and bring it with them on the day. Please note that if your friend is under 18 they will need their parent to sign the bottom of the invitation. You will also need to book your friend into a class, please see reception for booking sheets.

WAIMA Sparring & Forms Tournament On Saturday, 19 November WAIMA will hold its second Sparring and Forms tournament. This is a great opportunity for students to show off their skills, build confidence and compete in a friendly safe environment. There are three main categories; 1. TOUCH CONTACT SPARRING 2. KATA 3. DEMONSTRATION

Students are put into age and experience divisions and judges give points for shots landing, speed and control. Students are able to pick a kata of their choice and points are given out for technique, presence and the difficulty of the kata chosen. Students can work in teams or individually to display their choice of martial arts moves, weapons are able to be used in this category.

This tournament promises to be a fun day, we are all looking forward to seeing an awesome display from all who participate.

Grading Preparation Seminar Green, Brown and Black belt students who are preparing for their next grading are invited to a preparation seminar on Saturday, 12 November.

WAIMA would like to congratulate all the Predator Muay Thai fighters that competed in the WKA October Gym Show. It was a great day with some very competitive fights on show. Everyone who participated made us very proud and we would like to give special mention to Paul Di Biasi, Daniel Rolle and Glenn Ryan who fought with honour and courage, well done boys! Thank you to Instructor Karl in organising this event.

Huge congratulations to the girls that competed in the Osborne Park Gym Show – Girl’s Fight Back 2. Both Rebecca Kitson and Helen Roberts won their fights and did a fantastic job jumping into the ring to help raise money for cancer research. Well done girls from everyone here at WAIMA!

Message of the Month - Confidence Confidence means to “believe in yourself.” When you believe in yourself, you have the potential to achieve all your goals. You have the courage to see things through, especially when they are very hard and not to our liking. Confidence teaches you to never give up and always do your best. A person who believes in themselves always aspires to do and be their best. Confidence encourages us to work hard, put forth effort, and feel good about it.
