If you’ve never been to Tassie, trust me, it’s beautiful. And the best of Tassie is Hobart and Mount Wellington. Want to go further afield? Get off the beaten track? Remote trails? Hard riding? Mud up to your bottom bracket? Baby head boulder fields? Soul-destroying climbs? Thigh-destroying descents? Pubs that serve beer in nothing smaller than pint glasses? If you’re thinking “BRING IT ON” then you need The Epic.

We love riding on The Mountain and we want to share it with you. Hobart has one of the best organic trail networks in the country but it’s only known to the locals who ride it. With 1300m of vertical and more trails than an ant colony Hobart should be the number one destination for all mountain bikers, but it’s not. And the spoilt locals aren’t blabbing. If you want scenic and relaxed or fast and flowy or steep and scary, Hobart has everything.  And it’s so accessible - while Hobart may be a capital city, if you know which direction to go within 5 minutes you can be out of the city and riding single track gold. Try that in Sydney or Melbourne and you’re still in the car park.

We take the bus to the top of the mountain, and we’ve got 1300m of vertical below us. Stop for a photo then start riding to the trailhead at the Springs. Quick chat about what to expect and then we hit the dirt, green, blue or black. Start on the high mountain, then plunge into mighty forests and down into the foothills Finish along Hobart’s rivulet as it makes its way back into town. Your guides know every road, trail, track, path, alley and animal run on The Mountain.  They will show you all the best routes and how it all links up. There are plenty of stops along the way to point out interesting features and tell you what’s down the trail at every intersection. Your guide’s knowledge doesn’t stop at the end of the trail - we know all the best apres ride cafes and pubs. Time Departs Start Includes Bring only

You’re on holidays in Hobart. There’s MONA and there’s Salamanca. Great restaurants and trendy cafes (our favorites are Atlas, and The Stagg on Elizabeth Street). Hobart’s cool and cultured but secretly, deep down, you really wanted to go to Derby but you couldn’t convince your other half that 5 hours ripping up Derby’s best tracks and a mixed grill at The Weldborough Pub represents a cultural holiday - so you’re in Hobart. Don’t panic! On the Dawn Chorus you’ll get 90 minutes of single track and be back at the AirBNB before anyone wakes up.

This awesome adventure starts with a scenic bus ride up Mount Wellington at dusk. We ride down through stunning forests as the twilight descends. Turn on the lights and feel the excitement of riding single track in the dark. Then we hit the urban paths that take us back into town and roll up to the pub as we finish with refreshments and stories of your ride and your next adventure.
