Hello again and thank you for tuning in to this the forth issue of Waave Magazine I have just moved to Copenhagen and am really enjoying it so far
What I love most about Copenhagen is the street style and people watching becomes so much more fun when you see all of the creative humans walking around exploring their own style Discovering a new home and city is also very fun!
The weather is getting colder and I have been longing to wear my warmer jackets again and spending my days of at cafes is approaching
In this issue I have had the pleasure of having my old collegue and friend Piero Chighizola write for the guest surfer segment and it’s one of my favorites so far, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did
WE WILL BE INVITED INTO THE MIND OF PIERO IN THIS ISSUE! ENJOY HIS UNIQUE WAY TO EXPRESS HIS THOUGHTS.

I grew up in a very religious Roman Catholic family. Being exposed so much to religion made me always be interested in the topic of existence. Why are we here but also why would one want to keep being, why would you want to even live at all?
I distanced myself from religion, I felt disappointed when the same people that claimed to have all their answers in a book, did not even seem to care at all about this life, this world. It always seemed to me that they were just looking forward to something that is not certain and leaving behind the only existence that we for sure know we have.
I embraced Albert Camus' philosophy of living absurdly.
Suicide is the most serious philosophical problem. Judging whether life is or not worth living. And with so many religions, ideas, questions and answers, who knows who has it right? Then one can just decide to live, to live this life and give it its own meaning, because it is better to live in this absurdity than not do it at all. And this also includes denying life, in the way I experienced religion doing.

Yeah, this one takes all the edginess away, like beer does. I am only 25, I cannot keep writing about the deep and obscure things of life when I have barely lived it myself.
I learn new things and realise how I could have done things differently all the time, so I have no moral high ground to be preaching and telling people what to do.
I have isolated myself by thinking that I could know more than others or better than most people when instead I should have just been out there with people learning from them.
And yes, beer makes it much easier or at least that is what people in New Zealand, Finland and Norway have taught me. Just be human, all too human. Drink some beers and enjoy life, even if it means that you have to hang out with a bunch of Swedes.
Jokes aside, now I recommend my favourite Swedish band.
“When I was young, so much younger than today It felt easier living then.”

While living in Trondheim during the summer I walked passed these dogs almost everyday, people-watching
While reading this year ' s first issue of the student magazine in Trondheim "Under Dusken " I stumbled upon a quote in the article "Nytt år, nye nederlag" written by Sara Løtveit. Translated to English it read "We need to learn to love the average human being" stated by Professor Steinar Krokstad of community medicine. This quote spiked thoughts that I wanted to share.
THOUGHTS BY: AYLA WÅGAN
In today’s society and especially on social media people don’t want to be considered as average. It has a negative tone to it and makes you feel mundane and ordinary. Growing up the dream was fitting in and being indifferent, but I too in my recent years have thrived to be unique Now it is all about showing your followers how you and your life is far from ordinary and that traveling the world, climbing the highest peaks and partying with your friends is your typical everyday life, when in reality this rarely is the case
Being exposed to thousands of "perfect" social media posts on an everyday basis takes a toll on me personally, but the worst part is that I contribute to this trend myself.
I personally prefer creators that post with passion rather than people who aim to be envied, but scrolling through my own social media platforms is like taking a trip down a colorful, sunny road. It honestly makes me feel good looking at my online “life”. This new hobby of convincing followers that your life is nothing but a dream, can’t be good for the receivers nor the content creators.
"I PERSONALLY PREFER CREATORS THAT POST WITH PASSION RATHER THAN PEOPLE WHO AIM TO BE ENVIED"
This is where I believe the quote from Professor Steinar Krokstad should play a more active role.
“Learn to love the average human being” is such a powerful statement and I think it would benefit not only the younger generation, but everyone.
While writing this part of the article I am sitting at my local coffee shop Looking around I see all these different strangers, many with a computer in front of them, some chatting away with a friend and others alone on their phones or a book in hand. I catch myself considering them as average people, even though I know nothing about them If I could see them through a phone lens I know it would be a completely different story Same people through different lenses=contrasting stories. What I am trying to say is that looking through the real life lens is very comforting and everyone turns average. What does average even mean? Is there such a thing?
Researching this subject I wanted to find a podcast talking about being an average human being, but I only found negative loaded material My dissatisfaction led me to my colleague and artist Madeleine Heyman, I asked what she saw in Krokstads quote. She responded with “No one is average, everyone is unique and
has a lot of uniqueness to them. If we strengthen and value our differences there will be no better or worse person, and will result in no average human, only a world hosting billions of unique individuals That will again result in everyone being average because of their uniqueness”. We continued discussing that there are of course people that affect the world and write history with their good or bad deeds in a bigger sense than an “average human”, world champions, great country leaders, change makers etc These extraordinary people and their actions, ommitment, values and drive is absolutely something to admire, but at the end of the day they are also average humans made of flesh and bones, probably laying on the sofa watching some shit reality show.
What I take away from my conversation with Heyman, Krokstad's quote and writing this article is simply everybody and nobody is average and we should learn to love that fact
