VAnderbilt Attendance ON THE Rise; 15% IncREASE on Campus in 2012 Vanderbilt officials hope to see upward trends in home attendance to continue after the Commodores 9-4 campaign in 2012. Last year, the Commodores hosted three sellouts, the most since 1996, and averaged 37,860 for six home dates, 15 percent higher than in 2011 when attendance totals improved over 2010 figures. Vanderbilt's double-digit attendance in 2012 was the highest in the SEC, and came during a season when college football attendance nationwide dipped 1.6% from 2011 figures. The Commodores hosted three sellouts on campus last year, the most in a single season since 1996. Vanderbilt played before 93.8% capacity crowds at home. To Vanderbilt players and coaches, the most positive aspect of the increased crowds is the growing popularity of Commodore football.
