the wild, wild West is alive and well, so why not experience it with a sunset ride from cowboy trail rides? after being picked up from the Strip, you’ll saddle up with a tour guide as you explore red rock canyon. climb to the top of a desert canyon rim and make your way down on this 1-hour, 45-minute ride. make sure to keep an eye out for coyotes, bobcats and other wildlife along the way. From the most experienced of riders to those giddying up for the first time, owner Big Jim Sage and his staff of real-life cowpokes have just the horse to fit your skill level. after a ride that will leave you satisfied but not saddle-sore, you’ll head back to camp for a barbecue steak dinner with all the fixings. Big Jim cuts his steaks fresh daily, and there’s chicken and salmon available as well. dine while sitting around with the ranch hands, who tell their stories of the cowboy way—running cattle across the prairie and sleeping under the stars for weeks at a time. after dinner, you’ll gather around the campfire to enjoy s’mores, along with an authentic assortment of cowboy folk tales, poetry and songs.
