Foreword

In 2027, Voyages.golf presents a rare opportunity to experience South Africa properly in full, without shortcuts, and at a pace that allows the country to unfold naturally. This fully escorted small-group journey brings together world-class golf, luxury rail travel, wildlife encounters, wine regions, and coastal landscapes into one considered, seamless itinerary.

The tour begins with an exclusive four-night private charter of Rovos Rail, with all cabins upgraded to Deluxe, delivering one of the most refined travel experiences anywhere in the world. From the train, guests play Leopard Creek Golf Course, consistently ranked among Africa’s finest, before continuing on to a hand-selected lineup of championship golf, including multiple rounds at Fancourt.

Along the way, the journey features authentic safari experiences with game drives and opportunities to encounter the Big Five, and time to enjoy South Africa’s cultural highlights and celebrated wine regions. Premium lodges, resorts, and hotels have been carefully selected for their setting, comfort, and service, supported by the country’s outstanding hospitality and dining standards.

Non-golfing partners are thoughtfully catered for with safari days, sightseeing, spa experiences, and free time built into the itinerary. Hosted throughout by Voyages.golf, this tour reflects deep destination knowledge and meticulous execution offering one of the most complete and immersive ways to experience South Africa.

Eligibility

This hosted experience is open to anyone and everyone, however, there are some requirements for golfing at these top clubs and touring in a small group:

You should understand and speak fluent English

You should be comfortable travelling in a small group

You must have a registered golf handicap and belong to a club

You must be fit enough to walk a golf course if a cart-path only rule is in effect

You may be asked to produce a letter confirming your handicap

Tour Highlights

Golf at Leopard Creek Country Club, South Africa’s most respected course, as part of a broader safari stay rather than a rushed standalone round. Wildlife sightings, timing, and on-ground hosting turn this into a complete experience, not just a tee time.

South Africa is unmatched when it comes to blending gastronomy, wine, animals, scenery and outstanding golf. There is simply no other place quite like it in the world.

Travel through the country’s key golf regions in one cohesive itinerary — from the bushveld to Cape Town and the Winelands, finishing along the Garden Route — delivering variety, balance, and a true sense of progression.

Finish the tour with an extended stay at Fancourt Resort, playing both The Links at Fancourt and the Montagu Course, with time built in to enjoy the resort properly rather than passing through.

Safari experiences, Cape Point touring, winery visits, and premium resort stays are woven throughout the itinerary so non-golfers enjoy a complete journey alongside golfers, not a parallel one.

Our Record

In 2027, Voyages.golf invites you to experience South Africa as it deserves to be seen: properly, completely, and without compromise. This fully escorted small-group tour goes beyond the usual highlights, traveling through multiple regions at a considered pace to deliver golf, wildlife, wine, culture, and landscapes as one cohesive journey. You’ll enjoy multiple game drives across premier reserves with genuine opportunities to encounter the Big Five, play a hand-selected lineup of South Africa’s finest courses including Leopard Creek and multiple rounds at Fancourt, and explore wine regions, coastal scenery, and cultural landmarks at a rhythm that never feels rushed. A highlight of the journey is our exclusive charter of Rovos Rail, widely regarded as the world’s most luxurious train, offering a private experience through some of South Africa’s most spectacular landscapes. Nongolfers are catered for throughout with safari days, sightseeing, and ample free time & spa treatments along with day tours built into the itinerary. You’ll stay at premium lodges, resorts, and hotels selected for location, comfort, and service, with South Africa’s exceptional hospitality standards delivering excellent accommodation and dining throughout. Optional pre- and post-tour extensions include Sun City and additional luxury rail journeys for those wanting more. Hosted throughout by Voyages.golf, this tour reflects deep destination knowledge and seamless execution—if you’re looking to experience South Africa properly, the whole country done right, this is one of the most complete journeys available.

Reviews

All Reviews Gathered by Trustpilot, the Independent Review Platform

Once again, Voyages Golf provided us with the trip of a lifetime. This is our 5th trip with this great team, who created a seamless and stressless South African golf adventure. Every detail was covered and our only complaint is that we had to come home. The golf courses, the accommodation, the food, the touring group, the tour guides, the on-ground transfers were outstanding, leaving us with life-time memories. Thank you Harry, Glenn & Gayle – you were beyond amazing.

– Jeff & Lisa M – Australia

Voyages.golf was recommended to me thru the R&A for the Open Championship. I am very pleased I chose them to handle my vacation details. They offered a great package to tie in with my Open tickets, allowing me to go about my plans while they took care of all the details from hotel and transfers to/from Open venue. I even added on additional vacation details which they handled and everything went off without any issues. Voyages.golf kept me up to date with all details and any changes that arose. From start to end, they were on top of all details and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested.

– Arthur F – United States Incredibly well planned and executed. Excellent communication and attention to details. Did a great job creating bonds between clients. They are passionate about golf and creating a fantastic experience for their clients. The golf courses were excellent and the activities the Voyages team chose were perfect. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. I will be a repeat client for sure!

Golf Information

Leopard Creek Country Club

Leopard Creek is South Africa’s most celebrated course, and for good reason. Designed by Gary Player and situated on the edge of Kruger National Park, it offers a rare fusion of championship golf and untamed wilderness. The layout demands precision and nerve, particularly on water-lined holes that hug the Crocodile River, where wildlife sightings are part of the experience. Playing Leopard Creek as part of a safari stay—rather than as a rushed flyby—allows you to absorb the course and its surroundings properly.

Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate

Perched high on the Mpumalanga escarparpment, Highland Gate delivers sweeping views and bold, open golf. The layout features wide fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and a sense of scale that rewards confident striking. It’s a modern championship course that showcases a different side of South African golf—expansive, elevated, and visually stunning.

Steenberg Golf Club

Set in Cape Town’s Constantia wine valley, Steenberg is a refined parkland course where accuracy trumps power. Narrow, tree-lined fairways and well-guarded greens demand thoughtful shot-making throughout. It’s an engaging, well-balanced round and an ideal introduction to golf in the Western Cape.

Pearl Valley Golf Course

A Jack Nicklaus Signature design and a fixture in South Africa’s top rankings, Pearl Valley combines immaculate conditioning with strategic depth. Generous off the tee but demanding into large, contoured greens, the course rewards precision and course management. Set in the heart of the Winelands, it’s elite golf in a distinctly South African setting.

De Zalze Golf Club

De Zalze winds through vineyards and alongside the Eerste River, offering scenic, enjoyable golf that suits a wide range of abilities. The course rewards smart positioning over brute force, and its Stellenbosch location makes it a natural fit alongside the wine touring element of the itinerary.

Simola Golf & Country Estate

Situated high above the Knysna River valley, Simola is one of the tour’s most visually dramatic rounds. The course features significant elevation changes, sweeping views, and a layout that favours strategy over power. Staying on site allows you to enjoy both the course and its spectacular surroundings at your own pace.

The Links at Fancourt

The Links is South Africa’s only true links course and one of its most formidable. Designed by Gary Player, it features firm turf, severe bunkering, and constant exposure to the wind. Enjoy a round that delivers an authentic links experience; uncompromising, exhilarating, and a standout for traditionalists.

Montagu Course at Fancourt

The Montagu is a classic parkland layout and a regular host of professional events. Tree-lined fairways, elevated greens, and consistently excellent conditioning make it a polished, forgiving counterpart to The Links. It’s an ideal closing round—refined, approachable, and quintessentially Fancourt.

Lanzerac Hotel, Stellenbosch

Set on a historic wine estate in the heart of Stellenbosch, Lanzerac Hotel is one of South Africa’s most distinguished properties. The elegantly appointed rooms blend heritage charm with modern luxury, while the estate itself offers wine tastings, gourmet dining, spa treatments, and sweeping views across vineyards and mountains. This is the Cape Winelands at its finest—refined, beautiful, and steeped in tradition.

Simola Hotel, Knysna

Perched on a hillside overlooking Knysna Lagoon and the surrounding forests, Simola Hotel is a boutique retreat on the Garden Route. With spacious rooms, exceptional service, and its own championship golf course, the hotel strikes a balance between intimacy and luxury. The setting is dramatic, the atmosphere relaxed, and the location ideal for exploring one of South Africa’s most scenic regions.

Fancourt Resort, George – Luxury Room

Fancourt is South Africa’s leading golf resort, home to multiple world-class courses including the legendary Links. Set against the Outeniqua Mountains in the heart of the Garden Route, the resort’s Luxury Rooms deliver space, comfort, and impeccable service. With fine dining, a spa, and facilities that reflect genuine five-star standards, Fancourt offers golfers and non-golfers alike a stay that matches the caliber of the courses themselves.

Experiences

Safari & Wildlife

Experience multiple game drives led by expert rangers who know the terrain and wildlife intimately. Whether viewed from Rovos Rail or during your lodge stay, these guided excursions offer genuine opportunities to encounter the Big Five and observe animal behavior in their natural habitat—unhurried, insightful, and utterly compelling.

You’ll enjoy a scenic 4×4 ride, a gentle 2.2 km guided nature walk with expert commentary on local flora and fauna, and an outdoor buffet meal— all set against spectacular coastal scenery. Suitable for all fitness levels and genuinely memorable.

Events

What happens if my event is cancelled?

Things happen well in advance within the travel industry and we have been known to plan for events that are more than four years away, even though flights typically aren’t in system range until 11 months in advance! This means we often have event listings for published events happening years into the future. If you’re interested in travelling to a future event, we recommend navigating to an event listing and joining the waitlist for that event.

What happens if my event is postponed?

You will automatically be transferred to the new dates and notified as soon as possible. Please consider there will be a number of customers we need to re-accommodate and this takes time. You do not need to contact us until we have sought any changes or details from you. Note that hotels and often other services need to be re-contracted for the new dates. This may result in a change of rates, however we are negotiating and will offer the best possible outcomes. Our team will be working behind the scenes to ensure the best outcome for our customers.

My event is not cancelled, but I want to cancel

Your cancellation must be provided to a Travel Expert at our office in writing (email is acceptable). Normal cancellation penalties apply as per our Booking and Travelling Terms and Conditions. We suggest you contact your travel insurance provider to make a claim if the reason for cancellation can be considered.

Can I purchase event tickets by themselves?

For most events we partner with, we are licensed to sell Official Travel Packages and do not sell event tickets individually without a complete travel package. For events where Voyages.golf is not an official reseller to a golf event but still able to sell tickets, we require a minimum of two nights’ accommodation with tickets.

I am interested in travelling to a future event, do you have a waitlist?

Yes, Voyages.golf does provide wholesale travel to agents. Please ask them to get in touch via our contact us page or email us directly for more information and a quote.

Can you book my flights?

Absolutely, we book and ticket flights in-house. All flights incur an AU $55 booking fee. Please remember that we choose high-quality airlines with the best available rate. Please contact us regarding using frequent flyer points to book your flights.

Can I customise a listed package?

Yes, all our packages are fully customisable so you can personalise any travel package to suit your needs. Ticketed events and escorted tours are harder to customise due to the nature of organised travel programs and events, but it is our goal to provide the best travel services for your next experience & we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

My name is misspelt on a service – can I change it?

Please ensure you have all names and contact details correct at the time of booking. If a name is misspelt for some services (flights, events), name-change fees are usually charged by the service provider; we will pass this fee to you if the fault is yours.

Can I change my booking after it is confirmed?

After your booking is confirmed, changes are typically not possible. It largely depends on what changes are being made and the terms of the end supplier. Changes are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Generally, upgrades are possible at any time (ticket upgrades, extra nights, extra travellers etc.). However, we recommend adding upgrades at the time of booking. This will ensure all travellers are seated together, best prices and availability.

What are my payment options?

We accept cheques, bank transfers and credit cards. Domestic bank transfers and cheques have no fees. International bank transfers (e.g. from an international bank to our Australian bank or from an Australian bank to our international bank) incur a nominal A$20 service fee per transaction. All card payments incur merchant fees. For Visa and MasterCard it’s 1.5% and for American Express it’s 1.98%. Payment instructions will be provided on booking.

Do you have payment plans?

For any events, we require a low deposit of 10-25% to confirm your booking, plus any upgrades or extra services. The balance for your booking is due approximately 90 days before the event begins. For leisure travel, the deposit amount depends on the destination. The balance for your leisure booking is due approximately 90 days before the event begins. If you make a booking less than 90 days before an event or date of travel, full payment is required to confirm your booking.

For some events, particularly events occurring 12 months or more into the future, we deploy one or two stage payments to make the payment process easier for you. This in turn reduces the deposit and balance payments, ensuring the burden of payment is not too high at any stage of the process. Payment plans vary between events and for different destinations.

What terms apply to my booking, specifically in relation to cancellations?

All customers who make a booking with us (Voyages.golf) agree to our Booking and Travelling Terms and Conditions, which can be found on our website or a PDF version can be sent on request at any time. These Terms and Conditions cover cancellations in detail.

We highly recommend all customers take out travel insurance to cover you in the event that the unforeseeable happens. We sell travel insurance as part of our services and have negotiated with CHI to provide Australian residents with 15% off base policies. Our Travel Experts can help select the right policy for you, or you can purchase your own policy elsewhere or use a policy from your credit card provider.

What is the difference between a package and a tour?

Travel packages are designed for independent travellers and are not escorted day-to-day by Voyages.golf team members. With a package, you will be guiding yourself, so you must ensure you have the knowledge of your destination and the how-to’s of travel to get the most out of your trip.

With a tour, it’s the opposite and you will be escorted throughout your trip by an experienced tour manager who is there to manage the group and ensure you get the most out of your experience. All our golf tours are designed for small groups. Escorted golf tours are a great option if you want to travel with like-minded golfers and to relax and enjoy the trip, knowing everything is taken care of.

Travelling

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance prior to any trip. Travel insurance is designed to cover you for unforeseen loss, damages or emergencies. We sell travel insurance as part of our services and have negotiated with CHI Insurance to provide Australian residents with 15% off base policies. Our Travel Experts can help select the right policy for you, or you can purchase your own policy elsewhere or use a policy from your credit card provider.

Do I need a visa or a visitor permit?

All travellers are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate passport, visas, permits and certificates to enter the countries which you will be visiting. Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. We cannot be held liable if you are refused entry, deported or are unable to use travel services due to ineligible passports or visas.

If you are unsure of your visa requirements, please check your

government’s travel department (Australians use the Smart Traveller website) for assistance. You may also refer to Visa Link website for more information.

I have a group, can you help us?

Yes. We specialise in creating custom-made packages for groups of all sizes. Whether you’re travelling as a group of friends, a corporate or an incentive group, we can make it happen. We have assisted groups of more than 300 travellers at once, proving we have the knowledge that ensures your group travel experience is unforgettable (in a good way).

I am arranging a corporate travel experience/incentive, can you help?

Yes. We specialise in creating custom-made travel experiences and are extremely experienced in handling travel for corporate groups, incentive groups and for VIP travellers. Get in touch to start your corporate travel experience today.

What is the process like?

Browse our website or complete a new enquiry and speak with a knowledgeable Voyages.golf team member to start your journey. One of our friendly team members will contact you by your preferred contact method to go through your travel requirements, provide recommendations if needed and prices based on what you need.

After making a booking, you will receive a deposit invoice and booking confirmation. Your deposit invoice contains payment instructions and your booking confirmation outlines the services you have booked. To secure your booking, you need to pay your deposit invoice. Once you’ve done that you’ll be all set.

If your experience is still a while away, you will receive email updates with more information about your trip, including important announcements such as flight and transfer times, allocated teetimes, event announcements and more.

Events: If you book a golf event with Voyages.golf, approximately 2-4 weeks before your event begins, we start sending out travel documents. Travel documents generally contain a parcel and a ‘travel document email’. Your travel document email outlines your booking and important information relating to your trip, while your parcel contains the physical items you require (if any). To be more sustainable, where possible we only send the travel documents via email, so you may not receive a parcel if your tickets and other items can be sent digitally. We will let you know if this applies after booking.

For some events, or if you live internationally and cannot receive your parcel within the available timeframe, we will make your parcel available for collection from your hotel or an official collection centre. If this is the case, you will be advised within your travel documents email, this always comes first.

Troubleshooting

I lost my event tickets, what should I do?

If you have lost your event tickets, please refer to your travel documents email to find the relevant emergency contact number of our Onsite Team, or get in touch with our office. Our team will arrange with the event organisers to print you a new ticket. For some events, there is no fee, but for many events, a small fee will apply for the re-print. Your travel documents email will outline the applicable fee. Please note that some events do not re-print tickets at all and a new ticket will need to be purchased. In this instance, please contact our office.

I missed my flight, what should I do?

If you have missed your flight and you’re at the airport, the best thing to do is to visit your airline’s service desk in the departures hall. Airline service staff will be able to arrange for you to catch the next available service or use another carrier to get you to your destination or connecting flight. We recommend you visit the service desk if you require an urgent, on-the-spot solution.

If you are not at the airport and it’s non-urgent, please get in touch with a Team Member to explore your options (please note this only applies to flights that are booked through Voyages.golf and its parent company Events Travel). If you have booked a flight yourself or through another provider, please ask that provider for assistance, as we cannot manage an external booking through our systems.

I have an issue at my hotel or accommodations, what should I do?

For hotel or other end supplier issues, the best way to resolve an issue is to speak to hotel reception staff or the on-duty manager at the accommodation. If hotel staff cannot resolve your issue, please get in touch with a Voyages.golf team member who will resolve the issue with the hotel on your behalf. If you are physically at the hotel, speaking to hotel reception staff will be the fastest way to resolve an issue.

Please note that issues are difficult to fix retroactively. If you have an issue during your stay, we encourage you to seek a resolution at the time, as requesting compensation from a hotel after your stay is generally difficult or not possible.

I have an emergency, who do I contact?

For emergencies while travelling, please contact your relevant local emergency services (see this list of global emergency services numbers).

If you have a service or booking related emergency, please see your travel documents email for emergency contacts of our Onsite Team. Or, during business hours get in touch with our office.
