Foreword

Join Voyages.golf in July 2027 for a carefully designed Scottish links golf journey that traces the country’s most revered courses across Ayrshire, the Highlands, Aberdeenshire, and East Lothian. Timed to depart immediately after The Open Championship at St Andrews, this 14-day escorted tour is built around world-class golf, unhurried travel, and the confidence that every detail has been handled properly from start to finish.

This small-group experience is limited to just 20 golfers and features guaranteed tee times at Open Championship venues and historically significant links courses, played the way they were intended—on foot, with forecaddies where they matter most. Private coach transport connects each region seamlessly, allowing you to move through Scotland at a considered pace while staying in carefully selected hotels that reflect the character of each destination.

The itinerary adds depth to the journey with experiences that place golf within its wider Scottish context. Highlights include a Highland distillery visit, a full-day excursion to John O’Groats, and guided touring in Edinburgh, balancing championship golf with culture, landscape, and local history. These moments are woven naturally into the schedule, never rushed and never treated as add-ons.

Throughout the tour, the Voyages.golf team will host and escort the group, ensuring smooth logistics, a relaxed rhythm, and a sociable atmosphere both on and off the course. From tee times and transfers to accommodation and dining, this is a cohesive, end-to-end experience delivered by a team with decades of experience operating golf travel at the highest level.

Reviews

All Reviews Gathered by Trustpilot, the Independent Review Platform

Once again, Voyages Golf provided us with the trip of a lifetime. This is our 5th trip with this great team, who created a seamless and stressless South African golf adventure. Every detail was covered and our only complaint is that we had to come home. The golf courses, the accommodation, the food, the touring group, the tour guides, the on-ground transfers were outstanding, leaving us with life-time memories. Thank you Harry, Glenn & Gayle – you were beyond amazing.

– Jeff & Lisa M – Australia

Voyages.golf was recommended to me thru the R&A for the Open Championship. I am very pleased I chose them to handle my vacation details. They offered a great package to tie in with my Open tickets, allowing me to go about my plans while they took care of all the details from hotel and transfers to/from Open venue. I even added on additional vacation details which they handled and everything went off without any issues. Voyages.golf kept me up to date with all details and any changes that arose. From start to end, they were on top of all details and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested.

Golf Information

Royal Troon Golf Club

A cornerstone of The Open Championship rota, Royal Troon is one of the most demanding and celebrated links courses in the world. The Old Course is defined by narrow fairways, deep revetted bunkers, and relentless coastal winds that place a premium on accuracy and course management. From the iconic par-3 8th hole, the “Postage Stamp,” to a formidable closing stretch, Royal Troon delivers a true championship test.

Prestwick Golf Club

Prestwick is the birthplace of The Open Championship and remains one of the most distinctive links courses anywhere. The layout is famously unconventional, featuring blind shots, cross bunkers, stone walls, and dramatic green complexes. It’s a course that rewards imagination and local knowledge, offering a uniquely authentic Scottish links experience steeped in history.

Dundonald Links

Dundonald Links provides a modern contrast to the traditional Ayrshire links. Designed for championship play and a former host of the Scottish Open, the course features generous fairways, bold bunkering, and immaculately presented greens. Strategic rather than severe, Dundonald offers a highly enjoyable round while still testing players across all handicaps.

Brora Golf Club

Brora is one of Scotland’s most characterful links courses, set along the Moray Firth in the northern Highlands. Known for its natural turf and timeless design, the course plays firm and fast, with subtle greens and strategic angles. Local sheep still roam the fairways, adding to the charm of what is widely regarded as one of the most enjoyable traditional links in the country.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Regularly ranked among the top courses in the world, Royal Dornoch is a highlight of any golf journey to Scotland. The Championship Course combines dramatic natural contours, elevated greens, and ever-changing wind conditions to create a layout that is as beautiful as it is demanding. It’s a pure links experience that rewards precision, patience, and creativity.

Cruden Bay Golf Club

Cruden Bay is one of Scotland’s most visually striking links courses, set across towering dunes north of Aberdeen. The routing is bold and dramatic, with elevated tees, sweeping coastal views, and greens tucked into natural landforms. The course offers a thrilling mix of challenge and scenery, making it a favourite among seasoned links golfers.

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club

Royal Aberdeen’s Balgownie Links is a classic outand-back links layout that runs along the rugged North Sea coastline. The front nine winds through towering dunes and is widely regarded as one of the finest opening stretches in links golf. With firm fairways, challenging greens, and exposed coastal conditions, Royal Aberdeen delivers a demanding and deeply rewarding round.

Gullane Golf Club

Gullane No. 1 provides a superb conclusion to the tour. The course combines traditional links characteristics with elevated views across the Firth of Forth, particularly from the opening holes on Gullane Hill. Well-bunkered fairways and subtly contoured greens ensure a strong strategic test, while the setting offers a fitting finale before your farewell evening in Edinburgh.

Accommodation

Marine Troon

4 nights | Ayrshire

Your Scottish journey begins on the Ayrshire coast at Marine Troon, a landmark hotel overlooking the Firth of Clyde and directly adjacent to Royal Troon Golf Club. This is one of the best locations in Scotland for links golf, allowing easy access to Royal Troon, Prestwick, and Western Gailes or Dundonald Links. Rooms are modern and well-appointed, offering comfortable bedding, contemporary bathrooms, fast Wi-Fi, and coastal views where available. Public spaces include a relaxed bar, stylish dining areas, and comfortable lounges—ideal for unwinding after golf. Its position and standard make it an excellent base for the opening stage of the tour.

Royal Golf Hotel

4 nights | Scottish Highlands

In the Highlands, you’ll stay at the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch, located directly beside the first tee of Royal Dornoch Golf Club. This classic hotel offers unmatched proximity to one of the world’s most revered links courses, with Brora also close by. Rooms are traditional in style, comfortable, and well suited to the setting, with views across the Dornoch Firth from many rooms. The hotel’s bar and dining room provide a welcoming place to relax in the evenings, while the surrounding village of Dornoch adds a distinctly local feel to your stay. This is golf accommodation in its purest and most authentic form.

Marcliffe House

3 nights | Aberdeenshire

Your time in Aberdeenshire is spent at Marcliffe House, a refined country house hotel set in private grounds just outside Aberdeen. This is the most formal and elegant accommodation on the itinerary, offering a quiet, high-end retreat between rounds at Cruden Bay and Royal Aberdeen. Rooms are spacious and individually styled, with classic furnishings, generous bathrooms, and attentive service throughout the property. Dining at Marcliffe House is a highlight, with an emphasis on quality Scottish produce and a polished but unpretentious atmosphere. It’s a comfortable and fitting base for this outstanding stretch of coastal golf.

Scotsman Hotel

2 nights | Edinburgh

The tour concludes in central Edinburgh at the Scotsman Hotel, located on North Bridge just steps from the Royal Mile and overlooking Princes Street. This historic building combines traditional architecture with modern comforts and provides one of the best city-centre locations in the capital. Rooms are generous by Edinburgh standards, many offering city or castle views. The hotel’s central position makes it ideal for exploring Edinburgh on foot and provides an easy base before the final round at Gullane No. 1 and your farewell dinner. It’s a strong finish to the tour, blending comfort, history, and convenience.a

Experiences

Located near the shores of the Dornoch Firth, the distillery is known for its elegant whisky style and Scotland’s tallest copper stills. The experience includes a behind-the-scenes tour covering the whisky-making process, from mashing and fermentation through to distillation and maturation. Your visit concludes with a guided tasting of selected Glenmorangie expressions, offering insight into the distillery’s signature flavour profile. A relaxed and informative addition to your Highland stay.

John O’Groats – Full-Day Guided Excursion with Lunch

This full-day guided excursion explores the far north of mainland Scotland, travelling through Caithness and along dramatic coastal landscapes. Highlights include John O’Groats itself, famous for its signpost marking the north-eastern tip of the mainland, along with surrounding viewpoints and coastal scenery. Your guide will share local history and context throughout the day, bringing the region’s geography and heritage to life. Lunch is included at a local venue, allowing time to relax and enjoy the setting before returning to Dornoch in the afternoon.

Edinburgh – Guided Afternoon City Tour

On arrival in Edinburgh, enjoy a guided afternoon tour introducing Scotland’s historic capital. The tour focuses on the Old Town and central city areas, including the Royal Mile and surrounding landmarks, with commentary covering Edinburgh’s political, cultural, and architectural history. This is a relaxed orientation-style tour designed to provide context and insight, while still leaving time to explore independently later. It’s an ideal way to round out the journey before the final round at Gullane and your farewell evening.

Events

What happens if my event is cancelled?

Things happen well in advance within the travel industry and we have been known to plan for events that are more than four years away, even though flights typically aren’t in system range until 11 months in advance! This means we often have event listings for published events happening years into the future. If you’re interested in travelling to a future event, we recommend navigating to an event listing and joining the waitlist for that event.

What happens if my event is postponed?

You will automatically be transferred to the new dates and notified as soon as possible. Please consider there will be a number of customers we need to re-accommodate and this takes time. You do not need to contact us until we have sought any changes or details from you. Note that hotels and often other services need to be re-contracted for the new dates. This may result in a change of rates, however we are negotiating and will offer the best possible outcomes. Our team will be working behind the scenes to ensure the best outcome for our customers.

My event is not cancelled, but I want to cancel

Your cancellation must be provided to a Travel Expert at our office in writing (email is acceptable). Normal cancellation penalties apply as per our Booking and Travelling Terms and Conditions. We suggest you contact your travel insurance provider to make a claim if the reason for cancellation can be considered.

Can I purchase event tickets by themselves?

For most events we partner with, we are licensed to sell Official Travel Packages and do not sell event tickets individually without a complete travel package. For events where Voyages.golf is not an official reseller to a golf event but still able to sell tickets, we require a minimum of two nights’ accommodation with tickets.

I am interested in travelling to a future event, do you have a waitlist?

Things happen well in advance within the travel industry and we have been known to plan for events that are more than four years away, even though flights typically aren’t in system range until 11 months in advance! This means we often have event listings for published events happening years into the future. If you’re interested in travelling to a future event, we recommend navigating to an event listing and joining the waitlist for that event.

Can my Travel Agent book with you?

Yes, Voyages.golf does provide wholesale travel to agents. Please ask them to get in touch via our contact us page or email us directly for more information and a quote.

Can you book my flights?

Absolutely, we book and ticket flights in-house. All flights incur an AU $55 booking fee. Please remember that we choose high-quality airlines with the best available rate. Please contact us regarding using frequent flyer points to book your flights.

Can I customise a listed package?

Yes, all our packages are fully customisable so you can personalise any travel package to suit your needs. Ticketed events and escorted tours are harder to customise due to the nature of organised travel programs and events, but it is our goal to provide the best travel services for your next experience & we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

My name is misspelt on a service – can I change it?

Please ensure you have all names and contact details correct at the time of booking. If a name is misspelt for some services (flights, events), name-change fees are usually charged by the service provider; we will pass this fee to you if the fault is yours.

Can I change my booking after it is confirmed?

After your booking is confirmed, changes are typically not possible. It largely depends on what changes are being made and the terms of the end supplier. Changes are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Generally, upgrades are possible at any time (ticket upgrades, extra nights, extra travellers etc.). However, we recommend adding upgrades at the time of booking. This will ensure all travellers are seated together, best prices and availability.

What are my payment options?

We accept cheques, bank transfers and credit cards. Domestic bank transfers and cheques have no fees. International bank transfers (e.g. from an international bank to our Australian bank or from an Australian bank to our international bank) incur a nominal A$20 service fee per transaction. All card payments incur merchant fees. For Visa and MasterCard it’s 1.5% and for American Express it’s 1.98%. Payment instructions will be provided on booking.

Do you have payment plans?

For any events, we require a low deposit of 10-25% to confirm your booking, plus any upgrades or extra services. The balance for your booking is due approximately 90 days before the event begins. For leisure travel, the deposit amount depends on the destination. The balance for your leisure booking is due approximately 90 days before the event begins. If you make a booking less than 90 days before an event or date of travel, full payment is required to confirm your booking.

For some events, particularly events occurring 12 months or more into the future, we deploy one or two stage payments to make the payment process easier for you. This in turn reduces the deposit and balance payments, ensuring the burden of payment is not too high at any stage of the process. Payment plans vary between events and for different destinations.

What terms apply to my booking, specifically in relation to cancellations?

All customers who make a booking with us (Voyages.golf) agree to our Booking and Travelling Terms and Conditions, which can be found on our website or a PDF version can be sent on request at any time. These Terms and Conditions cover cancellations in detail.

We highly recommend all customers take out travel insurance to cover you in the event that the unforeseeable happens. We sell travel insurance as part of our services and have negotiated with CHI to provide Australian residents with 15% off base policies. Our Travel Experts can help select the right policy for you, or you can purchase your own policy elsewhere or use a policy from your credit card provider.

What is the difference between a package and a tour?

Travel packages are designed for independent travellers and are not escorted day-to-day by Voyages.golf team members. With a package, you will be guiding yourself, so you must ensure you have the knowledge of your destination and the how-to’s of travel to get the most out of your trip.

With a tour, it’s the opposite and you will be escorted throughout your trip by an experienced tour manager who is there to manage the group and ensure you get the most out of your experience. All our golf tours are designed for small groups. Escorted golf tours are a great option if you want to travel with like-minded golfers and to relax and enjoy the trip, knowing everything is taken care of.

Travelling

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance prior to any trip. Travel insurance is designed to cover you for unforeseen loss, damages or emergencies. We sell travel insurance as part of our services and have negotiated with CHI Insurance to provide Australian residents with 15% off base policies. Our Travel Experts can help select the right policy for you, or you can purchase your own policy elsewhere or use a policy from your credit card provider.

Do I need a visa or a visitor permit?

All travellers are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate passport, visas, permits and certificates to enter the countries which you will be visiting. Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the trip. We cannot be held liable if you are refused entry, deported or are unable to use travel services due to ineligible passports or visas.

If you are unsure of your visa requirements, please check your

government’s travel department (Australians use the Smart Traveller website) for assistance. You may also refer to Visa Link website for more information.

I have a group, can you help us?

Yes. We specialise in creating custom-made packages for groups of all sizes. Whether you’re travelling as a group of friends, a corporate or an incentive group, we can make it happen. We have assisted groups of more than 300 travellers at once, proving we have the knowledge that ensures your group travel experience is unforgettable (in a good way).

I am arranging a corporate travel experience/incentive, can you help?

Yes. We specialise in creating custom-made travel experiences and are extremely experienced in handling travel for corporate groups, incentive groups and for VIP travellers. Get in touch to start your corporate travel experience today.

What is the process like?

Browse our website or complete a new enquiry and speak with a knowledgeable Voyages.golf team member to start your journey. One of our friendly team members will contact you by your preferred contact method to go through your travel requirements, provide recommendations if needed and prices based on what you need.

After making a booking, you will receive a deposit invoice and booking confirmation. Your deposit invoice contains payment instructions and your booking confirmation outlines the services you have booked. To secure your booking, you need to pay your deposit invoice. Once you’ve done that you’ll be all set.

If your experience is still a while away, you will receive email updates with more information about your trip, including important announcements such as flight and transfer times, allocated teetimes, event announcements and more.

Events: If you book a golf event with Voyages.golf, approximately 2-4 weeks before your event begins, we start sending out travel documents. Travel documents generally contain a parcel and a ‘travel document email’. Your travel document email outlines your booking and important information relating to your trip, while your parcel contains the physical items you require (if any). To be more sustainable, where possible we only send the travel documents via email, so you may not receive a parcel if your tickets and other items can be sent digitally. We will let you know if this applies after booking.

For some events, or if you live internationally and cannot receive your parcel within the available timeframe, we will make your parcel available for collection from your hotel or an official collection centre. If this is the case, you will be advised within your travel documents email, this always comes first.

Troubleshooting

I lost my event tickets, what should I do?

If you have lost your event tickets, please refer to your travel documents email to find the relevant emergency contact number of our Onsite Team, or get in touch with our office. Our team will arrange with the event organisers to print you a new ticket. For some events, there is no fee, but for many events, a small fee will apply for the re-print. Your travel documents email will outline the applicable fee. Please note that some events do not re-print tickets at all and a new ticket will need to be purchased. In this instance, please contact our office.

I missed my flight, what should I do?

If you have missed your flight and you’re at the airport, the best thing to do is to visit your airline’s service desk in the departures hall. Airline service staff will be able to arrange for you to catch the next available service or use another carrier to get you to your destination or connecting flight. We recommend you visit the service desk if you require an urgent, on-the-spot solution.

If you are not at the airport and it’s non-urgent, please get in touch with a Team Member to explore your options (please note this only applies to flights that are booked through Voyages.golf and its parent company Events Travel). If you have booked a flight yourself or through another provider, please ask that provider for assistance, as we cannot manage an external booking through our systems.

I have an issue at my hotel or accommodations, what should I do?

For hotel or other end supplier issues, the best way to resolve an issue is to speak to hotel reception staff or the on-duty manager at the accommodation. If hotel staff cannot resolve your issue, please get in touch with a Voyages.golf team member who will resolve the issue with the hotel on your behalf. If you are physically at the hotel, speaking to hotel reception staff will be the fastest way to resolve an issue.

Please note that issues are difficult to fix retroactively. If you have an issue during your stay, we encourage you to seek a resolution at the time, as requesting compensation from a hotel after your stay is generally difficult or not possible.

I have an emergency, who do I contact?

For emergencies while travelling, please contact your relevant local emergency services (see this list of global emergency services numbers).

If you have a service or booking related emergency, please see your travel documents email for emergency contacts of our Onsite Team. Or, during business hours get in touch with our office.
