Learning is for Everyone

Fall 2012

See you at the J

Welcome to our second year of Jewish LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone) AZ. The opportunity to learn, explore and to express is fundamental to a strong and vibrant Jewish community. Hillel does not tell us how or what to learn; he simply provides the initiative to discover Judaism for ourselves. The best way to lead to a Jewish renaissance in our community is to not dictate what it means to be a good Jew but instead open many pathways into Jewish tradition. This may be an intellectual path or a spiritual one. Some will find their Judaism through traditional Jewish observance, others through music, or conversation. The key is to keep learning. We must never see an end to our own Jewish education and never close our ears to voices new and old that challenge our own Jewish choices and practices. Jewish LIFE AZ was created to inspire Jewish learning throughout the greater Phoenix area. It is a way for the Jewish community to work together and provide educational offerings that are open to all regardless of affiliation. This catalog will show you many of the wonderful learning opportunities in our community. Our goal is to expose you to these great offerings and inspire you to take advantage of some of these incredible classes. Jewish LIFE AZ is part of our “Threads of Jewish Life” program that “promises to weave together those values that we have in common, no matter who we are or where we are from.” Enjoy all that is being offered!
