Juliana Loomer, Digital Painter Juliana Loomer has worked as a digital artist in the entertainment industry in California making artwork for films such as Revenge of the Sith, StarWars 30th Anniversary re-releases, Indiana Jones 4 as well as the last installment of the Die Hard movies. With a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Academy of Art University and experience in the high-expectation world of visual effects Juliana has developed a painting style that not only fools the eye with the illusion of reality, but also inspires the heart with the haunting images of lonely worlds. Juliana paints each image from blank canvas to finished image choosing brushes, mixing colors, using the exact same process traditional painters use only in the computer and rendered with a digital tablet. Each painting takes 4-12 months to finish just as traditional paintings do. These paintings are often mistaken for photographs, which she naturally takes as a compliment, but as she says “there is no short-cut for hard work.

Artists Story:

About Digital Art:

Juliana Loomer was born and raised in the creative hotbed of Northern California, just outside San Francisco. By 2007, she was an overworked and exhausted visual effects artist working in the film industry. After taking an opportunity for a well deserved rest, she found herself unable to sleep for weeks. “Though it is hard to believe, the nights of sleeplessness were due to a man made of “shadow” that would stand next to my bed each night, telling me to write down a story about a girl that moves from California to Norway.” She agreed to write the story so she could get some sleep and in four weeks time, having never written anything before but emails, she had Child of the Jotun typed out for the “shadow man” that stood next to the bed. With the encouragement of friends, she decided to travel to Norway to see if the people and places she had written about were at all accurate. To her excitement and fear, they were. Following the story has changed her life. Juliana currently lives in Seljord, Norway with her husband and is dedicated to a creative life of telling her stories through painting and writing.

There is an advantage to creating art digitally; flexibility. These images can be printed for very small spaces or for large installations without any size limitation. All prints are numbered and signed and only very small runs of each are image are produced. This is an advantage for buyers with unique or monumental size spaces to hang. Each print has been created using processes that hold the original color for a minimum of 100 years without fading. Contact us for further information on size requirements.
