VOLUNTEER IN NEPAL: MEDICAL AND HEALTHCARE PROJECTS Working on a medical and healthcare project in Nepal is a unique experience. There is an obvious lack of healthcare education and medical services in Nepal. There is an average of 1 doctor for 12,000 Nepalese; local doctors are unable to treat effectively their patients due to the absence of qualified staff and infrastructures. Your participation on this project will help hundreds of Nepali to get the medical assistance they need. VOLUNTEER RESPONSABILITIES / ACTIVITIES Volunteers will assist doctors in public or private hospitals and provide first-aid information to the local people. You may also conduct health education classes in government schools. You will assist in performing health checks, creating medical records, and administering vaccinations. You will be required to work 5 or 6 days a week for a maximum of 6 hours a day. Your schedule can be adjusted but it has to be discussed with your coordinator in the hospital.
