The Semi-Annual Newsletter of Dunes Toastmasters Club

Club No. 919010, District 79, Chartered 2006 Volume 2 Issue 2 June 2008

President’s Message When I was asked to write the final message for the second issue of our magazine, it reminded me that it had been a year. A year as the President of Dunes Toastmaster Club. When I took up the job I was wary about how it was all going to happen. But today I am happy with what we have done. There is no President without a team to lead and I must say that the team I had was possibly the best I could have asked for. The senior members of the club carried themselves with élan and the younger members brought in the freshness we required. And all I had to do is to make sure we ENJOYED while we improved. I take this opportunity to thank the people who gave me this opportunity to lead. I thank the Excom members who did what they

were supposed to do and sometimes even surprised the club with the results.

President (July ‘07 - June ’08) Dunes Toastmasters Club

To take a club through a second year of being awarded the “President’s Distinguished Club” was no cake walk. But with the kind of support we got from members and mentors alike, it was easier than we thought it would be. With that I sign off wishing the new Excom the best in their year ahead. We now look forward to your leadership as Dunes would move to greater heights with you.

From the Editor’s Desk Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Contests, DTAC,YLP, CC Ceremony, Awards and accolades! Good going Dunes! Not only am I pleased to see the progress we’ve made over the last year, I am happy to note that each year we have managed to push the benchmark up a little higher. And now as the newly elected Excom takes charge, we eagerly look forward to another great year of achievements. As Frank Sinatra would have said, the best (I am sure) is yet to come.
