$10,000 Grant to fund your Peace Project!

The Davis Projects for Peace is an initiative funded by Kathryn W. Davis for undergraduate students to design and implement their own grassroots projects for the summer of 201 3. Individual or groups of students are invited to submit innovative and engaging proposals for projects focused on conflict resolution and the breaking down of barriers to peace. While the overall program is worldwide in scope, individual projects may be carried out in any location, including the United States. Selected projects will receive $1 0,000 in funding. The Office of Civic Action and Engagement is now accepting submissions from undergraduate students in Columbia College, Columbia Engineering, and General Studies for this amazing opportunity! Week of December 2, 2012: Ask Me Anything­ Suicide & Depression

Ask them anything. That's the idea. A panel of Columbia students from the Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), Nightline, along with students who have been diagnosed with depression and/or suicidal SUBMISSION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, JANUARY 20th ideation will answer any of your questions about depression, suicide, and related issues. Columbia University Dance Marathon Come to listen or to ask questions­­all are Register for Columbia University Dance Marathon welcome. (CUDM)! All questions will be submitted confidentially CUDM is an 18­hour dance marathon on January 26­27, 2013 to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric on paper to a moderator who will draw them AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). EGPAF seeks to prevent at random. pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS Dinner from Thai Market will be provided. through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. We raise both money and awareness about the organization and the work it does around the world. Our marathon is a celebration of life and a way to recognize the struggle children with AIDS go through every day. To represent that struggle, dancers raise money for EGPAF and pledge to stay on their feet for 18 hours. The marathon will take place in Roone and run from 1PM­7AM.
