THE DESIGN The design concept for the AISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center is based on the vision of “Exhibiting Opportunity; exposing students, educators, and visitors to 18 career programs within the center. The academies are organized in a manner that creates synergy visually and physically, by connecting all programs through open collaboration spaces and shared resources. The design of the building facilitates the district in optimizing the student’s path for self-discovery. From developing the initial program of the building, to the layout of the spaces, to the selection of the equipment in the spaces, the industry and community was instrumental in the process. One of the major goals for the facility is for the academic spaces to mimic industry, giving the students unparalleled access to the career they have chosen.
