Your career starts here In 2010, Vizeum Ireland launched a graduate programme. In a diďŹƒcult marketplace where job opportunities were becoming increasingly challenging to secure, we wanted to launch a programme, which would give the best graduates an opportunity to kick start their career and gain a foothold in the industry. Our programme provides the successful candidate with solid training across a range of disciplines, which will equip them to take their academic training and skillset to a more practical level.


Who are Vizeum Ireland? Vizeum Ireland is the fastest growing media agency in Ireland. Based on Harcourt Road in Dublin 2, we oer the best combination of a small, dynamic culture (34 people) alongside global network resources and capabilities from being part of Vizeum global and the Aegis network. This, together with the quality of our people, enables us to provide our clients with the best strategic thinking, trading and execution in media today. We truly believe that the most exciting part of the communications business is the Media. With a career in Media you will develop a thorough understanding of social change, consumers, brand relationships and technology.


Who we are and where we are going Our agency has a dynamic, fun and energetic environment with strong business success. Our mission statement, Connections that Count, seeks to challenge traditional thinking and devise relevant communications which help our clients grow their business. We look for strong innovative and creative thinking from all our recruits. While we have dramatically grown since our inception in 2005 to the 4th largest Irish media agency in 2012, we have maintained a sense of “family” and a relaxed working atmosphere. Every agency ‘talks ‘about putting digital at the heart of their business but tend to outsource this function. We work very closely with our in-house digital specialists to ensure we are maximizing the potential opportunities of this rapidly expanding area to create fun, innovative and stand out campaigns for our clients; campaigns which are fully integrated.


Why Vizeum? Our client list comprises of a mix of International and local brands, from FMCG to Financial Services, Motors to Telecoms with activities from direct response to long term brand building. What will I do all day?

The Role

As we work on one floor in a truly integrated way, all of our graduates get to know about the different roles in the agency. Most of our graduate roles are in our Planning, Digital and implementation areas. However, you will have an opportunity to learn from all of our specialisms.

• Managing client relationships and planning placement of campaigns to engage consumers. • Negotiating with media owners from TV and radio stations, newspaper and different digital houses to deliver value to our clients. • Implementing creative digital media solutions such as mobile marketing, social strategies and email.

Our desire is that you develop practical experience, which will enhance your college learnings and allow you to bring some of your creative media ideas to life. You will report to a line manager who will oversee your activities and ensure your graduate experience is positive and beneficial to your career development.


What we are looking for? We look for graduates that are entrepreneurial, commercial, collaborative and media aware.

We have high standards for all our graduates and will ensure everyone achieves their full potential, whatever their background or level.

Entrepreneurial – means pushing forward creative and novel ideas and solutions that will engage potential consumers.

To be successful, as a starting point, you will need to have the following: • Educated to degree level with a 2:1 or equivalent • Numerically astute with at least C grade secured in Leaving Cert Maths • Excellent communication skills

Commercial – means having an ability to understand numerical information, how we can add value to our clients’ business objectives and what ideas will be relevant to their brands. Collaborative – means being at ease in networking situations, listening and supporting others and the ability to work in a team. Media Aware – means having an acute awareness and interest in the different media outlets, platforms and advertising opportunities. Graduates are vital to the success of the agency. It is safe to say I have learnt so much over the past 2 years, not only from the regular training provided but from colleagues who have a wealth of experience that they are more than willing to share. I’ve heard on numerous occasions that 'no question is a silly question' and this is what has helped me to learn and develop the most.

When I joined Vizeum, I hit the ground running in the Digital Department. I learnt a huge amount in a short space of time, being exposed to social strategies, brand campaigns and the basics of PPC and SEO. This provided a great base for understanding, as all campaigns tend to have a digital component these days. After a few of months, I was moved onto the planning team. This gave me the opportunity to learn new skills and broaden my understanding of Media as a whole. I now work on the biggest agency account, Eircom Group.

Overall the graduate programme has enabled me to learn much more than just the basics of media, at a personal level my confidence has grown, my communications skills honed and I’ve developed a strong client service skill.

Having identified the importance of media in the communications mix and the rapidly shifting focus of the industry towards digital channels and greater accountability, Vizeum was the ideal starting point for me leaving college. The role has helped develop an in-depth understanding of all media channels available and whilst the learning curve is steep, it’s the challenge of improving campaign performance and effectiveness that excites me.

The office is young and vibrant and the social aspect of the job, between colleagues, clients and suppliers is a side I really enjoy! Everyone is extremely passionate about what they do and it’s this enthusiasm that makes Vizeum a great agency to begin your career.

I’ve always had an interest in media and I knew that’s where I wanted my career to go. After an extensive interview process, which was challenging in itself, I got an offer to work on some of Vizeum’s key clients. From day one I began working on a wide variety of clients, including Bulmers, Kerry Foods and RTÉ which not only gave me vast experience very quickly, but also enabled me to already get involved in award winning work.

Right from the get go you are working directly with clients and suppliers so the environment is quite fast paced. No matter what your role in the agency, the company focuses on all round development allowing you to gain an in-depth understanding of all areas of media.

Working with such talented people in Vizeum has proved to be the most valuable experience I could have hoped for, while the social side between colleagues, clients and suppliers is something even Charlie Sheen couldn’t handle!

How to Apply If you think you’ve got what it takes to get ahead and work for an agency that prides itself on challenging the norms of communication, apply for a graduate role with CV and cover letter to : joanna.gorczak@vizeum.com Suitable candidates will then be asked to interview with two senior staff members. The interview will involve a presentation on a relevant industry topic. The successful candidate will be notified within five working days. All unsuccessful candidates will be notified and given feedback. The successful applicant will be awarded an initial four month programme. Subject to performance, after this time frame a permanent position will be available. This is a salaried position. Closing date for application is June 13th 2013.
