Your Team’s solution must also address a social cause connected to the Theme. 3. All entry materials must be submitted and presented in the English language. If a translator is needed, you are responsible to procure and to make usage of one. 4. All types of media included in your entry must comply with the requirements set forth in the General Standards for Entries section of the Imagine Cup Official Rules. 5. Your team’s entry should only include material (including music, video or images) that you own or that you have permission from the copyright/trademark owner to use. Note: Your team’s entry may not include copyrighted materials (such as background music, images or video) unless you own or have permission to use the materials. Your team’s entry will be disqualified if copyrighted material is included.

ENTRY MATERIALS Round 1 XAP Application Synopsis Your Team will develop an XAP Application Synopsis which includes each of the following elements: 1. A name for your XAP Application 2. A short description of your Team’s XAP Application, including how it addresses the Theme. a. If pre-existing source code is incorporated into the XAP Application, then this pre-existing source code must be clearly identified in the XAP Application description and must not infringe on any third party rights, and must be used in accordance with all applicable licensing and use terms.

b. The description should not exceed 10,000 characters c. The description should be submitted as a .doc, .docx, .pdf or .txt Round 2 Worldwide Finals Qualifying XAP Application Video Your Team will present your XAP Application in the form of a video that depicts the XAP Application’s functionality or gameplay and provides an opportunity for your Team to explain the features as they are presented. 1. The video content should clearly address each of the judging criteria outlined below 2. All audio and text in the video should be in the English language 3. The video should be submitted as a .wmv. We recommend creating your screen capture using Microsoft Expression Encoder 3 Screen Capture which is available to students for free at DreamSpark. 4. The video should include the Imagine Cup intro and outro which can be found on the Windows Phone 7 competition page under Resources To Help You Along The Way. 5. The video should not exceed five (5) minutes, including intro and outro. 6. The video should not exceed 250MB. 7. The emphasis of the video should be on the XAP Application itself. Video production quality will not be scored in the judging process. Round 3 Worldwide Finals If your Team advances to compete in Round 3, instruction regarding the Worldwide Finals competition experience will be provided via e-mail.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY TEAM’S ENTRY? Round 1 To submit your Team’s entry for Round 1, navigate to the Windows Phone 7 Competition page at imaginecup.com, submit the required entry deliverables as instructed before the close of Round 1

Round 2 Worldwide Finals Qualifying If you are selected to advance to Round 2, submit your Team’s entry for Round 2 by navigating to the Windows Phone 7 Competition page at imaginecup.com, submit the required entry deliverables as instructed before the close of Round 2. Round 3 Worldwide Finals If your Team advances to compete in Round 3, instructions regarding the Worldwide Finals competition experience will be provided via e-mail.

Round 1 At the conclusion of the Round 1 Entry Period, all eligible entries received will be reviewed by a panel of qualified judges based on the judging criteria set forth below to determine up to one hundred (100) of the top Teams that will advance to compete in Round 2 – Worldwide Finals Qualifying. Round 2 Worldwide Finals Qualifying At the conclusion of the Round 2 Entry Period, all eligible entries received will be reviewed by a panel of qualified judges based on the judging criteria set forth below to determine the top five (5) Teams that will advance to compete in Round 3. Round 3 Worldwide Finals Each of the five (5) Teams will present its XAP Application in the form of a presentation and product demonstration of up to twenty (20) minutes to a panel of qualified judges, followed by a ten (10) minute question and answer period. Based on the Judging Criteria set forth below, the judges will assess each Team, and scores will be tallied to announce the First Place, Second Place, and Third Place Teams.
