Un clásico que siempre sorprende Es el fiel reflejo de lo mejor de la vitivinicultura chilena. Un clásico Cabernet Sauvignon del Maipo Alto con una sabiduría centenaria, pero con una vocación siempre moderna e innovadora.
El origen de Intriga se remonta a 1865 con la fundación de viña Linderos. En esa misma terraza aluvial del Valle del Maipo, que enfrenta el macizo cordillerano de los Andes, MontGras Properties retomó esta saga con un solo propósito: reflejar el carácter puro y auténtico de un clásico de la vitivinicultura chilena, proyectando sus notas a los más altos niveles de calidad. “Ya llevábamos varios años comprando uvas de este campo, por lo tanto conocíamos muy bien su tremendo potencial. Cuando adquirimos la viña en 2005, iniciamos un gran trabajo en el viñedo. Estudiamos y mapeamos los suelos, recuperamos las parras antiguas –algunas sobrepasan los 60 años de edad–, y plantamos otras 10 hectáreas en alta densidad en los mejores lugares”, explica Cristián Correa, enólogo de Intriga. Con el fin de realizar un manejo diferenciado, el campo se dividió en polígonos con distintas vocaciones productivas, tomando en cuenta las orientaciones de las hileras, los vientos y, sobre todo, la estructura y composición de los suelos. El equipo vitícola y enológico de Intriga, que cuenta con las asesorías de Pedro Parra y Alberto Antonini, descubrió lunares con piedras redondas a 40 centímetros de la superficie, la condición perfecta para que las raíces de las parras profundicen libremente en busca de humedad y minerales, sentando las bases para un vino frutal, estructurado y complejo. Hoy Viña Intriga cuenta con 90 hectáreas plantadas, la gran mayoría Cabernet Sauvignon. Y el resultado, en palabras de Cristián Correa, “es un vino con estilo, carácter, cuerpo y redondez de taninos. Un clásico en todo el sentido del concepto, como Dylan o Clapton, que puedes volver a escucharlo una y otra vez, y no te cansa… siempre te gusta más”. Intriga, como los grandes clásicos, no acaba con el misterio. El vino evoluciona y mejora con los años. En cada cosecha, en cada entrega, los consumidores del mundo pueden descubrir nuevas y enigmáticas facetas.

An ever surprising classic A true reflection of the best of Chilean winegrowing, this classic Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo boasts century-old wisdom but a modern and innovative spirit. The origins of Intriga stretch back to 1865 with the establishment of the Linderos winery. It was on that same alluvial terrace in the Maipo Valley, facing the majestic Andes Mountains, that MontGras Properties took this saga up again with just one purpose: to reflect the pure and authentic character of a classic from Chilean winegrowing and take its notes to the highest levels of quality. “We had already been purchasing grapes from this vineyard for a number of years, hence, we already knew of their tremendous potential. When we acquired the winery in 2005, we started a major endeavor with the vineyard. We studied and mapped the soils, we recovered the old grapevines – some were older than 60 years of age - and we planted another 10 high-density hectares in the best locations,” said Intriga winemaker Cristián Correa. With the aim of establishing a differentiated management, the land was divided into polygons with different productive potential taking into consideration the orientation of the rows, winds and above all the structure, and composition of the soils. The viticultural and winegrowing team at Intriga, together with advisors Pedro Parra and Alberto Antonini, discovered clumps of round rocks 40 centimeters deep that offered the perfect conditions for the grapevine roots to freely reach depths in their search for water and minerals and setting the base for a fruity, structured, and complex wine. Currently, Viña Intriga’s area under vine is 90 hectares, the vast majority of which is Cabernet Sauvignon. The result, in Cristián Correa’s words, “is a wine with style, character, body, and the roundness of its tannins. A classic in every sense of the word, just like Dylan and Clapton, which you listen to over and over again, without growing tired…you always like it even more.” Intriga, just like the grand classics, preserves its air of mystery about it. Wine both evolves and improves in time. In each vintage and every bottle, consumers from around the world can discover new and enigmatic facets.
