Turku’s taste of Paris is found in the ambiance of Café Art. The seven-time Barista champion café is located along the riverside, in one of the most beautiful spots in the city. In the petit Latte Café on Kristiinankatu there is a cosmopolitan milieu. In recent years Turku’s restaurants have taken on international recognition. Many places offer à la carte in addition to an interesting menu of flavours. When heading down to the most popular restaurants it pays to think ahead. Some places are booked months in advance. Turku’s restaurant Kaskis made history last year by being the first Michelin star restaurant outside of Helsinki. Located on Kaskenmäki hill the restaurant received the Michelin label in the spring of 2016. Kaskis’ style is in the spirit of fine dining, with an informal touch, and food always prepared using local ingredients. The bustling kitchen is run by the TV star, chef Erik Mansikka. In spring 2017 Kaskis opens a pop-up restaurant in the former prison of Kakolanmäki.
