You’ll find 17 major museums in Balboa Park, including the Fleet Science Center, home to the world’s first IMAX Dome Theater. Visit the San Diego Model Railroad Museum to see one of the largest model displays in the world! Or go explore San Diego military history at the USS Midway Museum and our nautical beginnings at the Maritime Museum of San Diego.

MUSIC

Catch the San Diego Symphony under the stars this summer at Bayside Summer Nights. The shows take place at the waterfront park behind the Convention Center. Visitors to Balboa Park can enjoy free Sunday concerts at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, housing the world’s largest pipe organ in a fully outdoor venue. After hours, enjoy live music at The Shout! House, located in the Gaslamp. 74 SAN DIEGO ATTENDEE GUIDE 2O18-2O19

THEATRE

Did you know that San Diego has sent more shows to Broadway than any other city in the U.S.? Between The Old Globe, the San Diego Civic Theatre and the Tony Award®-winning La Jolla Playhouse, you’ll be sure to find a musical, a comedy, a drama or the classics of Shakespeare to take in while you’re visiting.

ONLY IN SAN DIEGO

View the only Rembrandt painting on public display in San Diego at the Timken Museum; watch hand-blown glasswares come to life before your eyes at the Spanish Village Art Center. Baseball fans should head over to the San Diego Public Library; on the eighth floor, you’ll find a collection of memorabilia donated by the Ted Williams Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research.

Here are the most popular convention center photo ops we see on social media. Tag us @SDConventionCtr on Twitter and Instagram and we may share your photo. (ABOVE) SAils Pavilion COLORED LIGHTS The San Diego skyline can be illuminated in a stunning new way. Our Convention Center has LED colored lights that change any time of the year. If you see it, share it! #SailsPavilionLights (TO RIGHT) Grand Staircase The 100 stairs of the Grand Staircase are a great spot for a picture, whether it’s a selfie on the steps or a panoramic view of downtown from the top.

(far left) Hall H The hall signs and the waveshaped overhangs of the front drive make a great photo for attendees to share their arrival at an event on social media. (Left) The Portal A favorite among attendees, we have fondly dubbed these columns of barreled-glass windows “The Portal.” This photo was taken from the escalator in Lobby D.
