Are you crazy about rock music? If so, you can look forward to 2015! For that’s when Denmark’s Museum of Rock Music will open in Roskilde – a real ‘Experimentarium’ of rock music. You’ll be able to hear, see and feel the history of rock music from the rock-n-roll of the 1950s down to today – and even get an idea of tomorrow’s music scene. But you’ll get much more than a rollercoaster ride through the colourful history of rock. The Museum of Rock will also be an exciting discovery centre that allows you to independently see what you can do with music. You’ll for example, be able to record your own version of your favourite hit in the studio, or experience the adrenalin boost of performing on Orange Stage in front of a jubilant 3D audience. The museum is now under construction in Roskilde’s ‘Rock City’, Musicon, which is just a stone’s throw from where Roskilde Festival is held – where else? And the surroundings will certainly be worthy of a real rock’n’roller. The Museum of Rock Music will be housed in the Rock Magnet – an iconic building that will welcome the public with an illuminated golden façade – and a long red carpet, of course!
