The tour provides helmets and you can rent snow pants, jackets, boots, and gloves. The tour guide explains how to drive the snowmobile which is very easy. The tour takes you to a beautiful spot overlooking Lake Tahoe for some great photos. The first time we did it we also stopped at another spot overlooking Carson Valley. A 15-minute drive west of Gardnerville at SR-88 & SR-89 is Hope Valley, offering a short hike to a wonderful sledding and tubing hill. The road is also a great snowshoe and cross-country ski area. For directions or trail information go to or the Carson Valley Visitor Center.
