Simon Jagger and Chris Woody have known each other since they were children growing up in Oldham.
It was at high school when their partnership began and they started developing their own special brand of buffoonery which gained them quite a reputation in the local area. Years later, they were both trying out their on-air talents at the hospital station Radio Cavell. Since then, they have never looked back. The duo earned more air time at Sunset Radio 102 and Cheshire Choice FM where they began to really make their name in radio and in 2001 they were offered the enviable opportunity to host the daily Breakfast Show on Northants 96/Heart FM which they did for 9 years, attracting around 165,000 listeners each week. Following their success at Northants, an offer from the UK's biggest commercial station Real Radio, run by the Guardian Media Group, had been too good to refuse and early in 2010 the pair moved over Real Radio Wales, based in Cardiff, where they host The Real Breakfast Show with Jagger & Woody to an audience of nearly 3 million.
Jagger and Woody were asked a range of questions requiring one word answers for us to get an insight of their personalities… Coronation Street Or Eastenders? Jagger - Coronation Street Woody - Coronation Street

Having had the opportunity to meet and talk with Jagger and Woody, Vision Magazine would like to convey their thank-you to the guys for their friendly and warm welcome. No wonder they are such a hit as they are genuine and funny people. We look forward to listening to their show in the mornings and would suggest that if you haven’t tuned in to listen to these two likeable characters, that you do it now. Tune in to Listen to Jagger and Woody if you haven’t already done so every morning on 105.4-105.9 FM Catch up with their daily antics at www.realradio.co.uk 6

Help for Heroes What we do Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. We ask our supporters to “do their bit” to show these extraordinary young men and women that they are cared for by us. Over a million people have responded to date and millions of pounds have been raised to buy much needed services that will aid their recovery, but we need more! So far, we have allocated almost all of the money we have raised in order to fund direct projects and support other service charities. We are passionate about what we are doing and as far as we are concerned the sooner we can see results, the better!
How we spend your money -In support of the wounded Help For Heroes is the charity that does exactly what it says on the tin. Help for Heroes strives towards 100% effectiveness – so that for every £1 donated, £1 will go directly to helping wounded Servicemen and women. So, we do exactly what we say on the tin – your donations go directly to supporting the wounded boys and girls.
How we do this? We do of course have running costs but these are kept as low as possible, and the costs we do have? Well those are covered by the sale of our fantastic Help for Heroes merchandise. Every t-shirt, mug, wristband and calendar sold ensures that the money you donate goes to the men and women who need it, not office bills! In fact, thanks to the range of challenges we hold through the year and our H4H shop, last year we actually made more than we needed to run the charity. So, of course, the rest goes to the wounded.
What do we spend your money on? We spend every penny possible on making grants that aim to provide practical, direct support for our wounded. The grants that we have made so far are outlined in the table below.
This Months Top Tip Create your own tinted lip gloss. Simply mix any of your favorite lipsticks with a dab of Vaseline.
Pale & Interesting Call it the Twilight effect, call it skin going full circle, but all of a sudden a mahogany tan has given way to the kind of pallor which will have friends wondering whether you've got on the wrong side of Robert Pattinson recently. Yes, after years smothering ourselves in fake tans and worshipping at the altar of Victoria Beckham must-have skin has gone all vampiric on us, calling on inspiration not only from Twilight's leading lady Kirsten Stewart but fellow pale and interesting ladies Nicole Kidman, Dita Von Teese and Lily Cole, not to mention fashion's latest and most unlikely icon, Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts. Believe it or not, research suggests that men are more attracted to women sporting a fairer complexion (regardless of race) which puts paid to any worries you might have about Jordan and her fellow busty and bronzed babes. Pale skin is considered far classier than a deep tan too - think of the types of women, Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johanssen to name but three, for whom pallid is a trademark and you've got to wonder if it's mere coincidence that these are the women most commonly seen in the most sensational floor sweeping gowns or playing 'serious' screen roles. Not only is pale skin an emerging fashion statement, it's healthier too. We're all too aware of the dangers of tanning on the beach or on sun beds but to keep that sheet-white glow requires year round SPF protection, something which most of us neglect but every one of us needs. So dump the St Tropez in the nearest dustbin and use your self tanner time to slather on a good quality SPF 50 to stop the sun's rays reaching your diamond skin as you embrace your pale side.
From June Sarpong to Victoria Beckham since the late 1990s celebrities have rarely gone as far as the corner shop for a pint of milk and a newspaper without slapping on their lipgloss. And where celebs go the beauty pages and the public follow. So for a good ten years we've been stocking up on Juicy Tubes, slapping on Stila Lip Glaze and coveting DuWop's magical Lip Venom. But all of a sudden, and not just because winter is calling, the lip has gone seriously matte again. If we've learnt one thing from gloss it's that lips should shine. Fashion may be harking back to the 1980s but our make up shouldn't have to thanks to ever more creative formulations. The new generation of lipsticks have a subtle shine or shimmer to them, even the most matte lip colours have a moisture to them which old school 'sticks were devoid of. Check out MAC for lipsticks which are easily separated in to eight different 'finishes' from lustre to glaze. After years of glossing it may come as a shock to swipe on a slick of lippy straight from the bullet but deep pigmentation is where it's at. This winter bold, deep reds and plums take over from a summer of oranges and pinks so jump right in the deep end. A killer red lip may seem hard to wear but can be so flattering. Pillar box red is universally flattering - try Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited in RD190. What the Scouts said applies to make up artists too. Where the sheen of lip gloss was forgiving when wearing lipsticks nothing is more essential than a good foundation. Two simple ways to ensure an excellent lip are to gently brush with a dry toothbrush to remove dry flakiness and encourage blood flow and to use a great lip salve as often as needed. Take a close look at any recent beauty shots from and you'll see two distinct trends - the 'done' lip and, of course, the 'undone' lip. The done lip is more carefully applied using a base of lip liner and layer upon layer of brushed on colour whereas the undone lip is more romantic, patted on to the centre of the lips for a fairy tale rosebud pout or gently smeared beyond the lipline using a finger. Which you choose should depend on the rest of your face and your outfit but, mostly, which you feel most comfortable in. It's an old rule but a good one. When wearing a statement lip, a face needs little else. A swipe of mascara, a pat of powder and a dusting of blusher and you're ready to go.

Motoring A VW Passat estate drives up, it stops half way
into the road, the driver gets out, slams the door shut and, as he walks away from the car, he aims a remote control back at it. The car then proceeds to reverse park itself into the available space, turns off the engine and activates the door locks. No jokes about the parking skills of any particular sections of the population, but it sounds like a dream for many people who feel reversing skills are not the strongest element of their driving. In fact it's not a dream. It's a reality. The scene above was plated out at this year's Hanover Fair in April, where Volkswagen premiered its Park Assist Vision system. This has the ability to guide a Passat prototype with absolute precision into a perpendicular parking space - the kind available in car parks. As any supermarket shopper knows, these parking spaces are often too narrow to allow drivers and passengers to get in and out of the car comfortably. So why not get out before parking? Park Assist Vision will enable that. VW has already launched a semi-automatic park-steering system, the Park Assist, in its Touran, Tiguan, Passat and Passat estate to help drivers parallel park. The concept system at the Hanover Fair, which is capable of perpendicular parking fully automatically, adds to that. The only thing the driver needs to do is select an available space on the monitor of the navigation system, set the
selection lever of the automatic-drive vehicle (DSG) to P and get out of the car. The driver can, of course, choose to stay in the vehicle until the vehicle has been manoeuvred into its space. The system works because two cameras, located in the left and right exterior mirrors, are responsible for gauging the dimensions of the parking space. The video signals are transmitted to a 2GHz high-performance computer, which then analyses them and sends commands to the steering and drive systems. If the driver has initiated the parking manoeuvre, the Park Assist Vision will reverse the vehicle into the parking space in accordance with the previously computed course and using electromechanical power steering, the electronic parking brake, DSG and the engine power produced by the idling mixture. Two additional cameras at the front and rear of the vehicle as well as the system's ultrasound sensors monitor the operation and will stop the vehicle if necessary. The driver may also interrupt the manoeuvre at any time using the remote control. This new driver assistance system is still in the trial phase of development, and a date has not yet been set for introduction of the system to series production.

Jason Harrold Column It’s been a busy one for me; what with being Gavin Henson’s stuntman on ‘The Bachelor’ and donating my six-pack to Darryn Lyons in the Celebrity Big Brother house I’ve hardly had time for myself. But that wasn’t the difficult bit; the difficult bit was having my love handles melted down to make ‘Jedward’! After this year’s somewhat disappointing Celebrity Big Brother line-up I must be honest, I pined for George Galloway in a cat suit. Did I really just confess to that? My continuing series of “ See ‘em before it’s too late gigs“ found me traipsing out on a school night to see folk legend James Taylor at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff. A good few thousand people packed the house and were spellbound as the Master created an atmosphere like we were in someone’s front room. He spoke to the audience between every song, telling the story behind it and when he did sing he moved smoothly from Blues to Country and on to Ballads with a band that was tighter than a city council budget. To give the concert an intimate feel the encore was fantastic. As you know, as rule the idea is to sing at the top of one’s voice, but listening to “You’ve Got a Friend” at almost a whisper made the hair on my arms stand up. Congratulations to P.J Harvey on winning her second Mercury Music Prize with ‘Let England Shake.’ It was 10 years ago that Polly won her first Mercury gong so to be recognised again as an artist producing top quality music a
decade on proves that when it comes to awards form is temporary, class is permanent. Polly has class in buckets, she saw off the likes of Adele, Elbow and Katy B & Tinie Tempah in the process of winning the award. October is the month where we give a day of our radio station to those who have given so much more in defending our country. Sut i ddiogelu How to protect eich metel your metal Bu cynnydd yn ddiweddar o ran faint o fetel, megis plwm a chopr, sy’n cael ei ddwyn. Mae’n cael ei ddwyn ar sawl ffurf, gan gynnwys ceblau trydan a ffô n, pibellau nwy, gorchuddion draeniau a llinellau rheilffordd hyd yn oed.
There has recently been an increase in the amount of metal that is being stolen, such as lead and copper. It is being stolen in many forms, including electricity and telephone cables, gas piping, drain covers and even train lines.
I rai, gall hyn ymddangos fel trosedd bach ond mae’r effeithiau cynyddol yn enfawr a gallant fod yn angheuol. Mae cyflenwadau trydan a nwy wedi cael eu torri yng Ngwent a gall y difrod sy’n cael ei achosi i’r pibellau nwy a’r gwifrau trydan eu gwneud yn eithriadol o beryglus. Mae llinellau ffô n yn cael eu difrodi hefyd, a allai effeithio ar eich gallu I gysylltu â ’r gwasanaethau brys, os bydd ein hangen ni arnoch.
To some, this may seem like a minor crime but the knock on effects are huge and potentially deadly. Electricity and gas supplies have been cut off in Gwent and the damage being caused to the gas pipes and electricity lines can make them extremely dangerous. Phone lines are also being damaged, which could affect your ability to contact the emergency services, should you need us.

hese are exciting times for the Newport Gwent Dragons. After years of anticipation the redevelopment is under way. The current phase is on schedule with the new Bisley stand to be completed in time for the start of the 2011/12 season. The new season is set to bring many interesting changes to Rodney Parade and to the Dragons. Purely on the redevelopment front there is the Bisley stand replacing the Argus Terrace. With the relocated hospitality boxes and business and premium clubs the Dragons hope to offer a better match-day experience to nearly three thousand spectators. Existing parts of the ground are also benefiting from the update. The Hazell stand is being modernised with improved bars and modern facilities being added.
The Dragons' 2010/11 season ended with a sign of what all these improvements could bring to the pitch and to the actual game. In the Magners League the team enjoyed an almost unbeaten home streak at Rodney Parade. Victories were won over old rivals the Cardiff Blues as well as the other Welsh regions and heavy-weight sides such as Munster. Despite some losses the Men of Gwent still managed to rank as seventh overall in the Magners with hopes that can improve on that next season.
Chief Executive Mike Jenkins has great expectations of what the redevelopment will mean to the Dragons players and supporters. "I've spoken to some of the player's, in particular some of the senior players that have been here a long time and have been promised many things. There is a palpable sense that this is a region that's moving places. A lot of those players, and those just coming in, have really been sold on the basis of the new facilities and they can see that we're a region that's on the up. We have to convert on the pitch - people aren't going to use the facility if they don't enjoy what they see on the pitch. We managed to do that last season. Obviously what we're looking for is to do it consistently over the whole of the season and if we do that then people will flock here."
A better season seems likely with the Dragons squad full of players giving them a depth of performance that the club could be said to have been missing these past years. Exciting young players include Toby Faletau and Dan Lydiate who are amongst the five Dragons that have been called up to this year's World Cup squad. Faletau missed out on the Six Nations with an ankle injury but his performance last season earned him several young player awards from the Welsh Rugby Players' Association, the Welsh Rugby Writers Association and the Magners League. Lydiate has left his potentially career-ending injury far behind to become a regular addition to the national squad. Although it will be tough for the team to miss these crucial players, it has been shown time and time again that there is a wealth of talent in the region waiting to step up and seize the opportunity. As the Magners League becomes the RaboDirect Pro 12, so the Dragons are moving onto an exciting new era with hopefully many successes to come.
