Mission & Vision  Mission: To change patterns of inequality by supporting educational initiatives for youth affected by poverty and conflict.  Vision: We envision a world where all youth, teachers and communities are educated, empowered and uplifted.


About Visions

 Volunteer organization, driven by youth and young professionals  We work with underprivileged young people, teachers, and others in developing countries toward enabling them to become self-sufficient, leadership-oriented, healthy, and capable of participating in a global economy.  Visions has operated in Sri Lanka (since 2003) and India (since 2008).

Who is Visions?  Founded in 2003; legally registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity in early 2009  Board of Directors + 1 part-time consultant + Chapter Coordinators  Over 90 international volunteers have spent time abroad with us; joined by dozens of local volunteers  Rely heavily on volunteers and on the goodwill of others, both locally and abroad

Leadership Training Program 

Reversing the “brain drain”

22 trainings held since 2003 across Sri Lanka, Kenya, & India

Over 1,300 direct beneficiaries and thousands more indirect beneficiaries

Developed own curriculum: Leadership & Life Skills, Human Rights & Citizenship, and Global & Local Issues


Kalagam Visions Learning Centre (KVLC)

The KVLC is a 5-story learning center being built in Colombo in partnership with Saiva Mangaiyar Kalagam. The facility will ease overcrowding at the attached all-girls school and provide supplementary education & extracurricular activities. In the long-term, it will also serve as a training facility that will benefit other teachers, students, local partners, and more.


Scholarship Program  Visions’ local partners help identify students in need of scholarships. Support is provided in a number of ways School tuition Vocational fees Room and board for residential students  Transportation fees   


Teacher Support Program  Visions coordinates and organizes teacher training programs by connecting experts in a particular subject to a group of teachers in needs of additional support. Some of the types of training include:    
