Overcoming Fear and Weakness All around us everyday, there are people shutting down Christian’s rights to speak and live freely on this earth. They took prayer and the right to mention God out of our schools and look at the system now. They passed laws that separated church and state and look at our country now. They went to court to take God’s name from the Pledge of Allegiance. They now want to say that marriage is not just between a man and woman. When does it stop?!! Why is it that everyone else seems to be going to court and fighting (verbally) for what they want except the Christians? Are we that

Inside this issue:

afraid to stand up and fight for our beliefs? Are we in agreement with what’s happening? Are we fulfilling God’s purpose for guiding others to Christ on this earth? Have we become complacent? Are we more interested in raising money for a new church, more so than sharing the Word of God?

I AM NOT SAYING THAT WE SHOULD BE FANATICS! I am saying that we should not be ashamed to speak up for what we feel is right. Everyone else seems to be doing it! We must stand up and fight the devil and his angels. We are dealing with the principalities that we

cannot see! The devil is doing what he knows to do and that is to steal and destroy. We must fight to maintain our rights. We must get back to the basics of helping to save souls. Our rights to have Freedom of Speech is in jeopardy! Let’s overcome our fear and weakness and fight for Jesus! AA

Humor the porch and there's the groceries she asked for, and of course, she shouts "Praise the Lord!!!".

Praise the Lord! There's a little old Christian lady living next door to an atheist. Every morning the lady comes out onto her front porch and shouts "Praise the Lord!". The atheist yells back, "There is no God". She does this every morning with the same result. As time goes on, the lady runs into financial difficulties and has trouble buying food.

The atheist jumps out from behind a bush and says, "Ha, I bought those groceries - there is no God".

She goes out onto the porch and asks God for help with groceries, then says "Praise the Lord". The next morning she goes out onto

Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, We thank you right now for all that you have done in our life. Thank you, most of all for your Dear Son Jesus the Christ, who sacrificed His life so we can live. Help us in this New Year to forget those things that are behind us and press toward the mark of a higher calling. Help us to be faithful and true to you and put you first in our lives. Let this be the

year that we finally do what you have been impressing upon us to do. Let us do it knowing that you have equipped us to do it and no weapon formed against us will prosper. Let us lay every weight aside that so easily besets us, so that we can keep focused on the task ahead. Help to walk by faith and not by sight. Remove all fear and doubts from our minds and remind us that you have not given us the spirit of fear,, but a

spirit that fills us with love, power, and a sound mind. (2nd Timothy 1:7) Let this be the year we will do what we have never done before and do the work of the Kingdom. We thank you Father for being the author and finisher of our faith. We love you! In Jesus name we ask all these things; Amen SJ

Encouraging Words Glory II Glory Fear can hinder even the strongest man from achieving his goal if left unchecked. We have to make sure we do not allow fear to overwhelm us. I am learning that it's possible to accomplish the desires of your heart, but you must be willing to deal with fear when it tries to raise its little head.

In all we do, God is able to protect us so fear in itself is wasteful since our God is mighty and “you must be willing to deal with fear strong. Isaiah 35:3-4 it states, "With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak

knees. Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, and do not fear, for God is coming to destroy your enemies." I am here to encourage you to stay on your course, do not allow fear to stop you from doing what you know you are called to do - stand even when you are afraid! DJM

An Inspiring Verse For You Overcoming Fear and Weakness The following verse will provide encouragement to you and scare the devil: Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” Spurgeon Exposition The Lord is my light and my salvation. Here is personal interest, "my light, ""my salvation; "the soul is assured of it, and therefore, declaring it boldly. "My light; " --into the soul at the new birth divine light is poured as the precursor of salvation; where there is not enough light to see our own darkness and to long for the Lord Jesus, there is no evidence of salvation. Salvation finds us in the dark,

but it does not leave us there; it gives light to those who sit in the valley of the shadow of death. After conversion our God is our joy, comfort, guide, teacher, and in every sense our light; he is light within, light around, light reflected from us, and light to be revealed to us. Note, it is not said merely that the Lord gives light, but that he "is" light; nor that he gives salvation, but that he is salvation; he, then, who by faith has laid hold upon God has all covenant blessings in his possession. Every light is not the sun, but the sun is the father of all lights. This being made sure as a fact, the argument drawn from it is put in the form of a question, Whom shall I fear? A question which is its own answer. The powers of darkness are not to be feared, for the Lord, our light, destroys them; and the damnation of hell is not to be dreaded by us, for

the Lord is our salvation. This is a very different challenge from that of boastful Goliath, for it is based upon a very different foundation; it rests not upon the conceited vigour of an arm of flesh, but upon the real power of the omnipotent I AM. The Lord is the strength of my life. Here is a third glowing epithet, to show that the writer's hope was fastened with a threefold cord which could not be broken. We may well accumulate terms of praise where the Lord lavishes deeds of grace. Our life derives all its strength from him who is the author if it; and if he deigns to make us strong we cannot be weakened by all the machinations of the adversary. Of whom shall I be afraid? The bold question looks into the future as well as the present. "If God be for us, "who can be against us, either now or in time to come?

Discipleship/Christian Influence What is a blessing? Many people focus on blessings that are materialistic, things that we can see. Many times we forget the blessings that God gives us that we can't always physically see. How often do you thank for your heartbeat, for the air in your lungs, for sanity? God has blessed us in too many ways to count. At times, it may even be in the form of great friendships and relationships. To have peace, joy, and faith are also

blessings. Jesus' death and resurrection were blessings, just think about where we as Believers would be if He hadn't done all of this for us. I believe that God wants us to be thankful for blessings that aren't just tangible. What would we have if God decided to take away all of the materialistic blessings that we have? We would only have our faith to hold onto because there would be nothing else. We need to focus on being

thankful that we are SAVED and that we have FAITH in Jesus' work on the cross, the ultimate blessing! So, I'll leave you with a Biblical quote from Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him”. Faith first, blessings later. God Bless. BJ

Martha’s Christian Journey (Short Story) Series 2 Ms. Kathleen’s husband, Mark, had made advances to Martha when she stayed with Kathleen Marie in the past. Martha never told her grandmother or Ms. Kathleen. Mark had spent four years in prison for statutory rape that he claimed he had not committed. Ms. Kathleen believed him. Martha moved toward Ms. Kathleen as the ambulance drove away to take her grandmother to the hospital. “Thanks for allowing me to stay with you Ms. Kathleen,” said Martha. “Child, you know you’re always welcomed in this house,” said Ms. Kathleen. Just as she stepped up toward the apartment, the police car carrying her brother pulled away from the sidewalk. Martha began to weep, because this time she felt she would never see him again. Although he had hurt her grandmother in the in the past, he had been warned that he would be taken to jail if it happened again. Ms. Kathleen comforted her and took

her into her apartment. Once Martha was feeling better, she left to gather some clothing from her grandmother’s apartment. While inside she found the old Bible her grandmother gave her about six years before. Its pages were bent and worn from use. Without fail, Martha read and studied her Bible on a daily basis. She learned this from her grandmother. Ms. Lucy often told her that she needed to study the Word and to put what she learned into action. Martha felt the words leapt off the pages and provided comfort, encouragement, and support in her daily life. As she flipped through the pages, she rested on Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Martha read slowly and meditated on this scripture. At this time, she was beginning to feel lonely and not sure what her future

hold. Her grandmother was gone and she did not know how long she would be in the hospital. Further, Martha had no idea what would become of her brother. Martha read over the scripture once more and began to pray to God for His strength and courage. While she prayed, she began to feel stronger and more determined to trust solely in God for her direction. She got up off her knees, put her clothing in a brown bag, and went downstairs to Ms. Kathleen.

Devotional Scripture —Ephesians 6: 10-18 Do you have on your ARMOR of GOD? As I go throughout my day, week, and month, I often encounter strange people. While most of us have been taught basic morals and values, there are people who have not. There are individuals who harbor hate and animosity for absolutely no reason. There are people who actually sit at their desks planning evil against other people. To make matters worse, I have encountered teenagers who are rude and disrespectful. Often you hear other adults say, “their parents are exactly the same way.”

Where does this type of thinking or behavior come from? Where does the hate and willingness to hurt or even kill others stem from? I say this comes from the demon of darkness— satan. It appears that satan is on his job. He has been travelling the earth—going to and fro, ready to steal and destroy anyone in his path. It is important that Christians pray and put on the full “Armor of God”. We are fighting things that we cannot see, but God’s Word and His protection will shield us from the wiles of the devil.

We will encounter devils everyday as we go through our lives. Consequently, we must read and study the “Word of God”. This is a weapon that will sustain us until Jesus’ return. WE MUST RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE! The devil and his crew have used all the tools available to fight us. He went to the courthouse and now we can’t pray in schools (Separation of Church/State). When are we going to stand up and FIGHT? Where is your ARMOR of GOD? Get it and put it on! AA

Something To Ponder Marriage I got married in 1967. I was in my late teens and my husband was in his early twenties. Neither one of us was saved or knew what it took to be married. We were young immature and naive. We didn’t have good examples of marriages to help us or anyone to get some understanding from. Our parents were married, but they were just doing what they saw their parents did back in the day. In those days they didn’t show love toward each other. There was not a lot of communication, understanding, or prayer. Marriage was not discussed in the house or the churches. So, people got married and moved in together and the marriage was supposed to just work out by itself. NO!!! It does not work that way. When I got married, I thought that things were going to be like living on cloud nine because We loved each other. Well, I was mistaken. It was quite the opposite. After we got married, things started changing. The longer we stayed together, the more we seem to grow apart. Love seems like it went out the window! There was strife, physical abuse, and little or no communication. When you get married, you really don’t know your spouse until you live under the same roof with him or her.

The true person comes out because he/ she can’t continue to pretend. Marriage is not easy, it takes time and work! I didn’t know that! I always wanted my marriage to be better, but how? Well, I started watching various Pastors on television that talked about marriage and then the light came on. I got saved, then my husband got saved. Things started coming together, but not right way. It took a lot of praying and wanting things to be better. (Ephesians 5:23) “For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the Savior of the body.” (Ephesians 5:25) “Husband love your wives even as the Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it.” Ephesians 5:28, “So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. . Ephesians 5:31 “…….and shall be joined unto his wife and they two shall become one flesh. When two people come together as one it takes endurance. It’s a union of man and woman coming together from two different backgrounds and they

think,

do, and comprehend things differently. I now know that if you want your marriage to work it takes a lot of prayer, love, respect, loyalty, patience, forgiveness, communication, understanding, commitment, giving and taking. If you are committed to the relationship, the marriage has to be worked on 24/7 a day for the rest of your life. It also takes two people to work on the marriage and guidance from God and prayer. Marriage is good if you work at it and want it to work. You and your spouse can live a loving, healthy ,and a peaceful life, for the rest of your life . This is the way God intended marriage to be. Yours in Christ, Beula

Christian Theologian — C.H. Spurgeon—Baptist Preacher The descendant of several generations of Independent ministers, he was born at Kelvedon, Essex, and became a Baptist in 1850. In the same year he preached his first sermon, and in 1852 he was appointed pastor of the Baptist congregation at Waterbeach. In 1854, he went to Southwark, where his sermons drew such crowds that a new church, the Metropolitan Tabernacle in Newington Causeway, had to be built for him. Apart from his preaching activities, he founded a pastors’ college, an orphanage, and a colportage association for the propagation of uplifting literature. Spurgeon was a strong Calvinist. He had a controversy in 1864 with the Evangelical party of the Church of England for re-

maining in a Church that taught Baptismal Regeneration, and also estranged considerable sections of his own community by rigid opposition to the more liberal methods of Biblical exegesis. These differences led to a rupture with the Baptist Union in 1887. He owed his fame as a preacher to his great oratorical gifts, humour, and shrewd common sense, which showed itself especially in his treatment of contemporary problems. Among his works are The Saint and his Saviour (1857), Commenting and Commentaries (1876) and numerous volumes of sermons (translated into many languages). Adapted from The Oxford Dictionary of

the Christian Church

Are You Ready for the Return of Christ? I am huge fan of Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins, authors of the Left Behind Series. These fictionalized books are based on scriptures from the Bible beginning with the rapture and its culmination with the reign of Jesus on earth. The story begins with the disappearing as dubbed by the unbelievers. It discusses people missing from cars, pilots missing from planes, and children missing from families. The citizens are believing that aliens have abducted their families and friends. This incident was considered a negative incident for the world. While the unbelievers may not know what would have happened, the believers know exactly what has happened. Christians know that when that incident occurs it would be an “unexpected good consequence”. That incident will mark the beginning of Christ’s return to earth to rapture His church. This will be great for Christians because, like you, I intend to be one of those disappearing from earth and reappearing with the Lord! Finally, I leave you with this tip, no one knows the day nor the hour of Jesus’ return. Until Jesus return, we must love and care for each other. We must keep our hearts and minds stayed on Jesus. We must keep doing the things that have made us the die-hard Christians that we have become. Remember that our reward will come when we meet Jesus in the air during the rapture.

Sharing the “Word of God” and letting His light shine before men is an essential part of this ministry. Visionary Christian Ministries through the production of this monthly newsletter desires to reach ALL people, saved and unsaved! The “Word of God” is not a secret for Christians, it is the road map that God ordained for ALL people. Sharing, encouraging, laughing, praying, and most of all, loving one another is a must for this ministry. We hope that God’s eternal love seeps through to the reader as they read and enjoy this newsletter. Remember, your future cannot change for the better without Christ! God Bless You!

Salvation: Is this your Eternal Goal? God desires for all of us to be saved? It is not His desire that any should perish. Nevertheless, He also gave us free will. Our Father desires us to make the choice of following Him or not. Have you made that choice? When you take your last breath, where will you spend eternity? Will it be Heaven or hell? The end result will be based upon the choice you made! It is my hope that you chose to follow God. If you make that choice today, you have to acknowledge that you are a

sinner. Then you must repent of your sins. You must acknowledge that you believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross for you. It is as simple as that! God hears you and God Saves you! If you have not made that decision today, please make it soon. Tomorrow is not promised to you and waiting until later may be too late! Eternity is too long to be without God! Scriptures for Salvation Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the

wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
