AHOY and welcome to your Virgin Voyages digital sales guide, made specifically so that First Mates like you have all you need to Make Ship Happen. At Virgin Voyages, our ambition is to always be Brilliant to Do Business With, from our sweet 16% commission to our commitment to respecting your client relationships, and so much more. A vibrant spirit of entrepreneurship and drive to change the status quo has allowed Virgin to become an international brand, known and loved for our customer focus and brilliant service. The Virgin Way is core to our DNA, and it informs every element of the experience we offer. In 2021 we charted a new course with the debut of our first lady ship, Scarlet Lady. In 2022 we continue to revolutionize with the addition of Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady to our fleet. Their focus on design, wellness, and connection combines the warmth and luxury of a yacht with the endless options of a much larger ship. Setting sail the Virgin Way means embarking on an experience for Sailors ages 18 and up, where vibrant conversations over homemade pasta and bottles of Chianti lead to an evening of immersive performance with elaborate, circus twists. Take a fitness class you’d never dream of taking back home, then have champagne delivered right to you and your new friends with the shake of the app, seriously. Our experiences aim to connect you and your Sailors — to people, places, and (seafaring) paths you never thought to wander. Your partnership and support means the world to us as we introduce Virgin Voyages to the world. Our Sales Crew is always available to support you and help you develop your business — begin your journey at FirstMates.com and drop us a line anytime. Let’s dive in...
Sincerely,
Shane Riley VP, United Kingdom & Australia Sales
John Diorio VP, United States & Canada Sales

Brilliant To Do Business With
5
We love to talk the talk about how we’re making an ‘Epic Sea Change For All’ in the cruise industry, but walking the walk means having you, our First Mates, by our side. As we enter our inaugural season, it’s super important to us that you know how much we value you. That’s why we have improved all of our offerings in order to be even more Brilliant To Do Business With. After all, if you do well then we do well, and we’re going to make that happen by offering a compelling commission, showcasing our extraordinary experience, assuring you that we respect your client relationships, and sharing inside intel to #RaiseYourSales.

Compelling Commission
Extraordinary Experience
Our commitment to delivering an extraordinary experience begins with you, and that means putting our money where our mouth is by raising our commission for First Mates to a number set to boost your bottom line: 16%!
For the last 50 years, a vibrant spirit of entrepreneurship and drive to change the status quo has allowed Virgin to become an international brand, known and loved for our customer focus and brilliant service.
And this very, very sweet 16% commission started on July 1, 2020 and is here to stay; this is not a limited-time offer. It’s something you can count on, in addition to earning on everything and no NCFs. That’s right; no portion of the base voyage fare is set aside, designated, deducted, or excluded from figuring into your earnings.
What started from Richard's love of music with Virgin Records has transformed into a passion for redefining and elevating human experiences; it's a passion that now makes its way onto the seven seas.
We’ll also keep you soaking up the sums as you continue to earn 10% commission on everything sold before your Sailor sails, with the exception of taxes and fees. So, when you put in the work of helping your clients customize their epic experiences by adding extras like onboard credit, shore excursions, hotel stays, voyage protection, spa treatments, and premium WiFi, you’ll be rewarded for that work. You even earn commission on selling a Bar Tab, which is our answer to a drinks package. You know we got you.
The Virgin Way is core to our DNA, and it informs every element of the experience we offer. This approach is based on extensive research, as well as listening to the concerns and requests of both our First Mates and potential Sailors. Being "Virgin" means more than changing business for good; it means being champions of the Sailor experience. We deliver on this extraordinarily, to keep your clients coming back to you with rave reviews, time and again.
Respect & Integrity
Inside Intel
Earth’s surface is 71 percent ocean, and we bet your inbox is at least 71 percent full. We get it — your time is valuable. So, we’re all about making our communications with you and your Sailors count, while ensuring your information is clearly featured in them.
No person is an island, and our commitment to ‘Making an Epic Sea Change For All’ is not a revolution of one. We need you by our side, so we are committed to providing you with educational opportunities, marketing materials, and getting you aboard our ships so you can get the first-hand experience you need in order to share Virgin Voyages with your clients and #RaiseYourSales.
And when your Sailors are on board with us, we don’t forget who got them there. If they book a future voyage while still at sea, you will be a part of it; bookings made during a sailing still register in your First Mates account. Your client is always your client. Once and for always, we honor your client relationships.
Setting sail the Virgin Way is all about taking the best of cruising and complementing it with a touch of Virgin’s unparalleled customer experience, as well as the best of landbased hospitality and design. We want to make sure you have every opportunity to get to experience the product, and we’ll keep you in the know and on the list for exclusive events and opportunities.

Getting Registered as a First Mate
9
Agency Setup Our registration process is easy peasy and should take about 10 minutes. Please note the registration for the agency needs to be completed by the agency administrator. Agents, ICs, and others affiliated with the agency can register or be added by the admin after the agency has been approved in our system.
Please have the following info ready: Company name, phone number, mailing address, and membership number (such as CLIA, IATA, ASTA, ABTA, TTA, ATOL, AFTA etc.)
Signed & dated W9 form (for agents in United States)
To register, please visit FirstMates.com and click the red, “Become A First Mate” button. Then, select the “Register an Agency” tab and click the button labeled “Start Registration.” Have your agency information at hand, as registration must be completed all at once and can’t be saved and resumed later.
10
Business license (for agencies in United States and Canada). This can be a document from the city, state/province, or county. We will also accept a document from when you incorporated your business name, if applicable. If you do not have any of those, another option is to provide a brief note on company letterhead that states your name, company name, and state where you are located. For example: "My name is (Owner/Admin Name) from (Company Name) and incorporated/LLC/registered in (State/Province or City) and I want to do business with Virgin Voyages."
Registering as a First Mate Register as a First Mate in either of these two ways: For First Mates registering themselves: Agents can visit FirstMates.com and select the “Become A First Mate” button to register. They will be prompted to enter their "Main Agency Phone Number," which links them to the main agency. They will receive an email notification when they register. The admin will then need to approve them from their own FirstMates.com account. After logging in, look to the top, right-hand corner and select “My Agency,” then “Approvals.” Once the agents are approved, they will receive an email to set their FirstMates.com login credentials.
For First Mates being registered by an agency administrator: Add associates in your agency by logging in to FirstMates. com and selecting your name at the top, right-hand corner of the window. Then select "My Agency" and, from there, select the "First Mates" tab. Enter the information of the First Mates you’d like to add and they will be auto-approved and sent an email to set their FirstMates.com login credentials.

Our Sailors
19
20
Our Sailors WHO OUR SAILORS ARE
Everyone aged 18 and over is welcome to sail on a Voyage with us, but most of our booked guests fall in the range of 37 - 62, with an average age of 47. Over half are married and more than half still have children at home, but understand that taking time for oneself, or to reconnect with adult-age family and friends, contributes to your overall well-being. Over 75% have cruised before but are excited to try something new, whether that’s sailing on an exclusively adult ship, enjoying our unique itineraries and ports, or experiencing our “On Us” offering that includes all dining, gratuities, essential drinks, WiFi, and group fitness classes in the voyage fare. The other 25% are intrigued by the concept of an adventure at sea, changing up their usual vacation, to see what we mean when we say that we “Set Sail the Virgin Way” with brilliant service and incredible value.
WHAT OUR SAILORS LOVE
Our Sailors are pioneers who are creative and value great design, live for discovery and collect experiences, embrace wellness and diversity, journey with open minds and open hearts, and see connection with others as a key element of travel. Our Sailors love to explore, whether that means taking a tip about a cool cocktail den carved into a cliffside, or saying yes to trying a trend they heard about only yesterday (clear-bottom kayaking, anyone?). They love being treated like RockStars, with service and luxury that isn’t stuffy or formal, and avoid the “mediocrity of mass.” Restorative mornings or late nights under the stars — enjoyment comes at the intersection of exhilaration and inspiration.
WHAT OUR SAILORS NEED
A passport is required for our Sailors, valid for at least six months after the sailing date. Other sailing requirements may apply. 21
You Know Them Best Your fellow First Mates share insight on who makes an ideal Virgin Voyages Sailor. Part of our promise to be Brilliant To Do Business With is providing you, our First Mates, with the inside intel you need to share Virgin Voyages with your Sailors. Chief among this intel are first-hand opportunities for you to experience what it means to Set Sail The Virgin Way for yourself. We’ve been honored to host many First Mates who have already shared their insight on what types of clients would most love us. Here’s what they have to say: Forward thinking, open-minded, somewhat adventurous, technology-forward clients who skew younger, with a healthy or above average income. Perfect for clients who love adults-only, all-inclusive resorts with a variety of activities that cover all interests, from sporty to cerebral. Singles or couples looking for good dancing music and who like technology, healthy eating, and wellness. The perfect client is a healthconscious, fitness-oriented person who appreciates all of the included fitness classes, vegan and vegetarian food options, and the wonderful spa. 22
Adults who want to let loose, get wild, and are open to new experiences.
Clients tired of the same old cruises, but who desire great food, even better service, and freedom from being nickel-and-dimed will love Virgin Voyages. I think the 40ish - 60ish age group looking to reconnect with the younger version of themselves will be attracted to the Virgin Voyages experience.
Someone who loves cruising, but wants a more sophisticated and adult-oriented atmosphere than they can find on other cruise lines.
Anyone who is a free-thinker, who does not need constant handholding, and wants to set the pace of their vacation will love all the opportunities Virgin presents to make their own good time.
An adventurous person with youthful energy, seeking a kidfree experience and willing to break away from the typical cruise line and try something completely different.
Fairly affluent travelers who prefer high-design party environments over quiet elegance and would rather be out of the room and participating in activities and socializing over staying in.
The perfect client for VV is someone who enjoys incredible food, does not need to have their schedule planned in advance, and is socially open-minded. Women on trips with their friends and LGBTQIA+ clients will love it.
They have to be willing to try new experiences, a new way to cruise, and let the stress of the world wash away with the waves.
Virgin Voyages is for active and wellness-focused friends, couples, and solos with no boundaries, no schedules, and no tolerance for anything but the best food.

Taking cues from the best international cities, we’ve created getaways at sea with the perfect balance of uptown meets downtown — where paths diverge and choice is an artistic part of the journey. Combining the warmth and luxury of a yacht with the endless options of a much larger ship, we’ve designed elevated and intimate environments that inspire personal and experiential connection.

Circles, Charters and Incentives
53
Running Circles around groups Bachelor or Bachelorette party? Yoga group getaway? Work team building? Send your Sailors to sea with their posse as Circles. A Circle is a group with a minimum of 10 cabins on the same sailing, with a maximum of 150 Sailors. Existing bookings on the same sailing can join a Circle or start a new one at any time, up to 14 days before the Voyage. Once names and deposits are made on at least 10 cabins, more cabins can be added, but the cut-off remains 14 days prior to sailing.
Our onboard credit offer for Circles: RockStar Quarters: $200 Sailor Loot Sea Terraces: $100 Sailor Loot Insiders & Sea Views: $50 Sailor Loot
54
Over $600 in value per person is always included:
Plus, Circle Leaders (that’d be you, First Mate) are rewarded for their work in forming a Circle with a choice of Circles booking bonus: Complimentary cabins: For every 10 fully paid cabins, voyage fare on the 11th is free. The only limit to this is our ship, so if your Circle fully pays for 20 cabins, that’s two extra cabins with free voyage fare. 50 cabins? 5 extra. Use the cabins for yourself, for prizes, or to gift others the trip of a lifetime. OR Commission bonus: Score an extra 2% bonus commission on top of the 16% for paid cabins, making your commission a total of 18% on voyage fare. That goes for the entire group of cabins; there is no cap on this bonus commission. And you’ll still earn 10% on all pre-voyage sales, like Shore Things and Bar Tab. As far as payment, a Circle can now hold a minimum of 10 cabins for 30 days before providing deposits and Sailor names, so long as it’s outside of the final payment date, which comes 120 days prior to the Voyage. Inside of those 120 days, Circles can continue to form, but Sailor names and full payment are due at the time of a cabin booking. If a Sailor cancels between 120 and 45 days prior to the voyage, they will receive a 50% FVC. How to set up a Circle: For you and your Sailors, Circles are a win-win and — score! — easy to set up. Start by booking cabins like normal, and then contact Sailor Services to connect them in a Circle and choose your reward. 55
55
Pre-arranged parties (and more!) for Circles Circles benefit from so much, including the opportunity to pre-arrange special experiences before the voyage, like organized group dining, shore excursions, cocktail parties, and out-of-the-box experiences.
GROUP DINING
How does Circles group dining work? Circles have the ability to prearrange group dining experiences. Group dining can be held between 120 to 60 days prior to sailing based on availability. 15 Sailors or less The group can dine all together at the same time. We will coordinate with our dining experts to see what nights best fit their schedule and desired restaurant. 16 Sailors or more For groups larger than 16 Sailors, we can still enable the group to dine together but we will stagger the group’s arrival times by 15-30 minutes. For example, the first wave of Sailors will arrive at 6:30pm, the next at 6:45pm, 7:00pm, and so on…
SHORE EXCURSIONS
There are some experiences you only dream about and there are those you didn’t know you needed — until they’re right in front of you. Our Shore Things are the perfect balance of both. Circles groups can set up and organize Shore Things ahead of time. “Shore Things” is our term for shore excursions but, as always, we do things The Virgin Way. Our Shore Things are definitely not your average “stock tour” kind of experiences. Each one connects Sailors to paths less traveled, providing access to unexpected and uplifting local culture and discovery.
Tips & Tricks
56
Keep in mind that our booking window for dining reservations opens up 60 days (for RockStar and Mega RockStar Sailors) and 45 days (for all other Sailors) in advance. Once the regular booking window opens up, it could become a little tricky to block off the dining space for a group. Be sure to have the group leader tell your Circle group when their group dining is scheduled, to avoid an overlap of conflicting plans.
COCKTAIL PARTIES
Celebrate with sangria through sunset, bond with beers during a bon voyage, or toast to a perfect tan and smooth seas on a sailing day. A cocktail party is a perfect event for Circles to come together, and we’ve got both private and semi-private venue options as well as flexible pricing to craft the perfect soiree with sips.

OUT-OF-THE-BOX EXPERIENCES
Want to take your Circle on a bar crawl across the ship? Maybe share a fun learning experience around the art of cocktails and photography? The sky (and the sea) is the limit for Circles! 57
Charters and Incentives Inspired by the allure of yachting and the romance of the open ocean, we’ve created our very own boutique hotel at sea — with no kids and no ordinary experiences. We offer an incomparable opportunity for hosting your Sailor’s incentive voyage, or for a complete takeover of the ship with a charter.
THE VOYAGES
Our mid-size, yacht-inspired ships offer sailings in the Caribbean from Miami and San Juan, and in the Mediterranean from Barcelona and Piraeus (Athens). Everywhere we go, we’ve designed an elevated and intimate experience that inspires personal and experiential connection.
THE ENTERTAINMENT
Swapping classic Broadway productions for exhilarating, contemporary and immersive entertainment, your Sailors have the opportunity to experience a festival-like lineup of shows and happenings. Our shows have been developed by the world’s most talked-about producers, directors, choreographers and artists; they're our Creative Collective. Their shows push boundaries, explore untold stories, and cultivate experiences that aim to transform and inspire.
58
THE DINING
In partnering with famed restaurateurs and Michelin-starred chefs, we’ve ditched buffets and pre-set dining times to bring your Sailors made-to-order food and leisurely brunches from our 20+ unique eateries — with a bar in every specialty one. All the food is ‘On Us’ — meaning no exclusive spots you have to pay to get into. From steakhouses and Korean BBQ to a test kitchen and an international food market, all the food your client’s hearts desire is always included.
THE EXPERIENCE
Every sailing includes $600 in extras, like dining at 20+ eateries (all made-to-order and with menus by Michelin-starred chefs), unlimited WiFi, essential drinks, all gratuities, and group fitness classes. No nickel-and-diming and no surprise bills means the good times can flow. Our experiences aim to connect your Sailors — to ideas, people, places, and (seafaring) paths they never thought to wander.

61
On Us
Once you’re on board, it’s On Us. Every sailing always includes extras of over $600 in value. That means dining at our 20+ eateries, essential drinks, unlimited wifi, all gratuities, and unlimited group fitness classes. It’s all of the incredible experiences, without the neverending extra fees and fine print.
62
Bar Tab Bonus It pays to pre-pay. Bar Tab is onboard credit for Sailors to use on any and all beverages not already included in the voyage fare. Bar Tab gets your Sailors (and their friends) what they want, where and when they want it, including non-alcoholic options like specialty coffees, pressed juices and smoothies. There are no limits; not all Sailors in a cabin have to have a Bar Tab, and Sailors can buy as many $300 Bar Tabs as fits their fancy, so long as they purchase them at least 48 hours prior to sailing. However a Sailor purchases a Bar Tab pre-voyage, First Mates earn 10% commission on each $300 Bar Tab. Plus we’ll top off your Sailor with an extra $50 on their $300 bar tab.
Sail With Friends Extra onboard credit is on deck. It’s a solid win-win situation when your Sailors share their voyage with their friends. Not only will they make memories together on a vacation unlike any other, but the referrer receives $50 in onboard credit (per cabin) for every friend they refer who books on their voyage, while their Sailors also get $50 in onboard credit. And, when those friends book through you, it’s really a win-win-win. 63
10% Pay in Full Discount A reward for bookings paid in full Seal the deal with your Sailor by sharing that voyages paid in full at the time of booking receive 10% off voyage fare. The discount is 10% off voyage fare shown on the summary page, after any discounts. For a booking to be eligible for the 10% Pay in Full Discount, it must be: • Made 180 days out from sail date • Fully paid—the entire invoice amount including voyage fare plus taxes and fees—within two hours of starting the reservation. (For paid in full bookings, the Sailor will not receive a hold email.) View a video walk-through. For combinability with other discounts or promotions and other details, see Terms & Conditions. 64
Book Early and Save One simple trick for saving up to 10% off voyage fare. Sailors who secure their voyage (way) ahead of time get rewarded for it, with 5-10% off the voyage fare when booking at least 121 days before their sail date:
• 180+ days out from sailing: 10% off • 179-121 days out from salling: 5% off Decisive Sailors benefit even more, as the Book Early and Save discount can be combined with the Pay-in-Full discount for a truly incredible deal that will keep them coming back to you.
Book now. Pay over time with Uplift.* Your Sailors can book the Voyage of a lifetime now, but take their time with the total. PROTECTION
MODIFIED & CANCELED BOOKINGS If a Sailor pays a deposit but cancels before final payment (120 days): • The deposit will convert to a FVC valid one year from the original booking date. • Commission will only be paid at the final payment of booking in which credit was used. • If the deposit is never used, the commission will not be paid. If a Sailor cancels after final payment was made (less than 120 days): • No recall or change to commission paid. • If the cancellation is between 119 and 45 days* before sailing, your Sailor will receive a non-commissionable Future Voyage Credit (FVC) for their voyage fare. Taxes and fees are refunded to your Sailor. • If the cancelled booking is part of a Circle, the Sailor will receive a 50% FVC if the cancellation occurs between 119 and 45 days before sailing. If the cancellation comes 44 days or fewer before sailing, no FVC will be issued. *This follows the final cancellation timeframe of the booking.
•
•
• •
•
Virgin Voyages will protect the original commission if and when any change to a booking due to overbooking by Virgin Voyages results in a reduction in ticket fare or a refund to the Sailor. If a lower ticket price is offered for the exact cabin category purchased within the same voyage, Virgin Voyages will honor the lower price, upon request, if the request is made before final payment. Commission will be paid based on the adjusted ticket price if the ticket price is reduced. If a lower ticket price is offered for the exact cabin category purchased within the same voyage after final payment has been made, Virgin Voyages will offer an upgrade or some other value add item to the Sailor for the difference in price. A guarantee category (Lock It In Rate) of any cabin type offered at a lower price is not considered a lower price of the exact cabin category purchased.
FUTURE VOYAGE SALES “MY NEXT VIRGIN VOYAGE” •
• •
Commission on the new booking, which is made by a Sailor while on board, will be automatically paid to the First Mate, unless the Sailor indicates that a different method of booking is preferred. First Mate will be notified of the sale and the commission that will be paid at final payment. When a general voyage deposit is sold onboard, the First Mate will be notified via e-mail of the sale, to assist with converting the deposit to an actual ship and voyage date. *These policies are not valid for tour operators.
69
