April 8th - Officer appointments When parents become involved in their children's education, the adults are more likely to: Have a closer relationship with the faculty and administrators, thus feeling more comfortable seeking information or sharing concerns Become more aware of policies, procedures and school community news Get to know their daughter’s friends Form friendships with other parents Scholastic achievement and the PA: A two-year study of home and school influences on scholastic achievement among children found that formal involvement in parent-school activities was the most important variable connected to all literacy skills.

The Oldfields Parent Association is dedicated to enriching the educational experience of Oldfields girls through social activities bringing parents, students, and teachers together. Through volunteer parental involvement, we provide educational and financial support and promote a loving and safe learning environment for our children so they may excel in all aspects of their educational careers.
We need parents like YOU! Please consider the following volunteer opportunities:

What does the Oldfields School Parent Association do? Well, we do a number of different things. Here are a few:
Build positive relationships with families and the School
Invite boarding students to homes during long weekend breaks
Support Oldfields School faculty and staff
Design, produce, and sell the Oldfields ornament collection
Compile and produce the Oldfields cookbook
Hold the teacher appreciation end-of-year luncheon
Offer support in campus projects and activities such as the community garden and the equestrian program Participate in fundraising, such as phonathons Sponsor “funraisers” such as seasonal contests for students Register on onecause.com and apply for a Target Visa with Oldfields as beneficiary
Help decorate the campus. It’s fun!
Support fundraising efforts. Make calls. Write letters. Stuff envelopes.
Bake for various events. Consider an officer position.
