Chairman’s Report Hi Everybody, Well another cold and wet month gone by spring is on the way. Garage Raid As most of you will know by now the Garage Raid was a let-down due to weather (flooding everywhere) never mind cannot help the wet weather. Those that went had a good time and we had plenty to eat. The seven places visited were very well received. A BIG THANKS to all those that helped. National Day It has been decided that we will all meet at the clubrooms at 12.30pm Saturday 27th August. We will do a run around town then go back to the clubrooms for a BBQ. The Club will donate $100 to the local Cancer Society. SO LETS HAVE A GOOD TURN OUT. We will need half a dozen members to help deliver daffodils on Monday 21st August, keep this date in mind.

Next Meeting: 17th August Meeting 7.30pm Following the Meeting there will be a presentation from the rotary club on there recent visit to India
Club Captains Report The Garage raid was attended by about 25 hardy souls, along with local members; some braving the flooding to come from as far afield as Ashburton. Noticeable was the absence of any enthusiasts from below the Waitaki due to the roads being closed. The kitchen staff worked hard to provide a hot meal for all, and it was really nice to see every one relaxing and catching up before embarking on the afternoon viewing. After the club meeting this month Rotary will give us a talk about their work here and overseas. Drive safely
Garage Raid 2017 We all know that the weather was totally against us ... Oamaru and South were cut off due to flooding. The 100 odd people we would normally have had , turned into 20 from Timaru , Ashburton and ChCh . Even a few of our local members chose not to venture out. The men and women that did make it , thoroughly enjoyed their day . Lots to see and garages that were opened to us for the first time ever. Our THANKS must go to those who generously let us into there garages / world. THANK YOU also to our kitchen staff , who worked tirelessly to supply lunches. Hot and welcoming on a cold winters Day . Hopefully 4 years from now , we get a lovely sunny frost free day. Fords for ever John Dawson
