General Business;-Steve suggested that a mid winter dinner & or a run e organised followed by afternoon tea or a pot luck tea. Calendars, Bruce Milne has advised that he will be suppling calendars again this year. Steve read an email from Trevor Appleby saying that he supported Steve’s idea of the club buying a 2 pole single phase hoist, said that he has put one in at Kurow & wished he had done it years ago. The Chairman said that one could be fully installed for around $3K. Keith said he had seen a alternative one which was a drive on one. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to look into it. Stewart Townshend had some photos of cars from deceased estate, that will come on the market, he passed around for members to view. Trevor Holland said that Waimate St Johns Ambulance is celebrating its centenary on Saturday 14th of September & wondered if members would be able to have cars available on that day. We agreed to support it. Meeting closed at 8pm. Signed Chairman

Date 20-06-19

As most of you by now know our committee will remain the same for the next 12 months (I think you must like us) Sunday after our next meeting on sun 24th June, I would like to have a Sunday run and a Fish n chip night with twist. We will kick off about 2.30/ 3.00 pm starting with a cupper at the club rooms, then take off for short run about an hour, then back to the club rooms for chat and a beer /tea /coffee. Then order fish n chips for tea, after tea I will run a Chinese auction the last one a few years ago was a lot of fun, SO PLEASE COME ALONG With Barry and Suzanne away for a couple of months our next couple of news letters will be very brief. We will endeavour to give a report on the comings and goings of the club all ideas welcome. I believe Suzanne has a few things organised e.g. National day late august In July we would like to have a mid-winter dinner possibly at the galleon and have another Go at ten pin bowling, we would like to invite north Otago vcc to join us for a bit of competition We will discuss this at the June meeting

Thought for the month WE are not given a good or bad life We are given a life and it’s up to us to make it good or bad Thanks again for your help and support

Club Captains Report Already half way through the year and winter is rapidly approaching. The A G M , was held earlier in May, and was a non event! The turnout of members was not great with only the majority of the committee in attendance and a couple of members. Unfortunately, as there were no other members present the committee stands as is. If this state of affairs continues, with no interest or support from the many other members in the club, I can see the next A G M being the one to fold it up. The Cancer rally for this year will be a static display in Seddon Square, on the 24th of August. We will hopefully get plenty of public interest, and along with a sausage sizzle, will generate plenty of donations. Glenys and Graeme Dennison have generously volunteered to run the sausage sizzle I would also like a few of you to be available to give interested people a ride in your lovely machines if possible. Holding our event on the Saturday will hopefully give us more general public, as they will have been to the Market first. This will leave Sunday free for those of you who may like to join in with Timaru for their Rally on the Sunday. I will be away for a couple of months so any further information, contact either Steve, or Toni, who has offered to do the donkey work. Thank you Toni. It would be really great if the club could make this an enjoyable and profitable day, and we can have a great time showing off our great vehicles. Keep safe over the winter.

June 24th Fish and Chips Night Start with a cuppa about 2.30-3.00pm followed by a short (about an hour)RUN Back to Club rooms for a get together and order fish and chips After tea “A CHINESE AUCTION”

Waimate VCC will be holding their fund raising Day on the Saturday the 24th. Bring along your pride and joy (does not have to be vintage could be the latest mustang) to Seddon Square and display it. (see Club Captain’s report)
