"End of Days" Tasting this Friday! Oh, Saturday Too! Click on the Cartoon to Watch a Mayan Calendar Video. Yes, the end is near! The Mayan Calendar runs out on Friday 12-21-12! Winter Solstice! The end of the world is near - again! Since earliest times, the idea that the world is soon coming to an end has accompanied humanity, and selfstyled prophets never seem to tire of warning that their apocalypse will be real. On Friday, December 21, 2012, one of the great cycles in the Mayan calendar will end. The Internet abounds with predictions about an apocalypse happening on "12/21/12". One theory suggests a galactic alignment which would create chaos on Earth because of the gravitational effect between the Sun and the Black hole called Sagittarius A, which is located at the center of our galaxy. Another theory involves a 'polar shift', which means a reversal of the north and south magnetic poles. Scientists believe that the Earth is overdue for a geomagnetic reversal. However, this can take up to 5,000 years to complete and does not start on any particular date. All that said, we will celebrate the "End of Days" with one galactic tasting on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 since that will be our last day on Earth!!!!! We will be using the Blind Tasting format too! Always a crowd pleaser! Come by and spend like there is no tomorrow! Don't worry, you won't have to worry about paying your credit card bills after Friday!!!! Oh, by the way, we will also have a tasting the next day on Saturday from 2 to 6!!!! Click here for the Mayan Count-down Calendar!

Cheapest Prices in Town!!!?????? Do we have the cheapest prices in town? Does anyone? Who is the cheapest? To answer that question please put yourself in the retailers shoes. If we buy an extreme amount, say 56 cases, we will have the cheapest price in town on that particular item. If we purchase less than a case we likely will not have least expensive price. No one can purchase every wine in large bulk. Each store will pick and choose which wines to buy in mass and will price accordingly. Many times a store will reduce an item just for a loss leader to get you to come to the store in hopes you buy more. The Vineyard is not the cheapest in town nor are we the highest. Some items you will find here are the lowest in town price wise, others we just don't or can't purchase in bulk. What we do promise is new wines and the ability
to taste wines at the best possible price with great friendly service! If we don't have what you're looking for we will order it or even call our competition to find it for you so you can save time and money looking for it! Now that's pricless customer service!
Best of Augusta? Best of Columbia County? How about "Best of 365 Wine Shops in the USA!" Every year Wine Spectator picks the best wine shops in the nation. This year, for the second time since we opened, The Vineyard was picked as one of the best in the USA! We were surprised when we got the call last month and we are listed in the November 30th issue. Unlike other titles of "The Best" we didn't stuff any ballot box or buy advertising to win. We just do what we do; provide the finest selections of wine and service in the area. We bring to the community new and exciting wines and tastings and Wine Spectator, the experts in the wine industry, has taken notice! Thank you Wine Spectator for the honor and the trust you have placed in The Vineyard. Thank you to our loyal customers!
