In 2003, the American College of Physicians said doctors spent more time on insurance and less on patients, insurers questioned the doctors' professional judgment too often, probably in a bid to get out of paying claims, and doctors had to hire more staff to deal with the paperwork. Of course, if you're already ill or elderly, nobody will offer you insurance coverage anyway, so you're still out of luck. But that's OK because the principle behind the plutocracy's Third Way is that the rich deserve to be first in line. Profit as a cure for what ails public health care?
