A DEFINITIVE SOLUTION FOR POST 9/11 BUILDING EVACUATIONS
PROBLEM: For over a century, in cities around the world, an innumerable number of people have suffered horrendous deaths after becoming trapped in burning buildings. The horrific scenes on March 25, 1911 at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City and on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center towers were virtually identical. However, on 9/11, fire entrapment was intentionally harnessed by terrorists to kill far more people than otherwise possible. With stairwells and elevators inaccessible, many people found themselves without evacuation options, trapped in intense heat and smoke filled offices. Of the thousands killed on 9/11, it is estimated that more than 200 people jumped to their deaths in an attempt to escape. In the nearly ten years since the attacks on the World Trade Center, an innovative solution to prevent these ghastly scenes from being repeated has yet to be implemented. This opens the door for terrorists to continue to attack a well‐known weakness, one which was analyzed and successfully exploited on 9/11. Matchsticks or lighters are all that foreign or home‐grown terrorists need to once more cause fire entrapment and loss of life on a massive scale. Consequently, resolving the century‐old problem of fire entrapment and lack of effective mass evacuation for buildings is now a matter of National Security.
SOLUTION: Up to this point, all post‐9/11 measures of combating fire entrapment fatalities have proven ineffective. The solution must be found in breakthrough technology. The patented Automated Evacuation Sequencing Order‐ enforcement and Pre‐qualified egress (AESOP) evacuation system uses the latest network technology and purpose‐driven design to transport hundreds of people from buildings of any height, even if evacuees are located above floors that are completely engulfed in flames. Full building evacuation occurs in just a handful of minutes with the bare minimum of effort and the maximum degree of safety. AESOP can work continuously for hours, despite a power outage. It does not affect the external aesthetics of the building, nor does it require any external assistance or expertise to deploy and operate. And AESOP can be retrofitted into nearly all existing buildings. Had our patented AESOP evacuation system been available in each of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11, it is likely that we could have evacuated everyone above the burning floors of both towers in less than 25 minutes. AESOP also presents a very rare and truly unique opportunity to establish a new billion dollar global industry. We calculate that the local sourcing, manufacturing, assembly, testing, transport, domestic and international sales and installation of AESOP components and systems will rapidly generate thousands of urgently needed jobs in several cities and municipalities in the United States. AESOP resolves, with finality, a real and present threat to National Security and will directly contribute to significant and rapid job creation in the United States. AESOP will become an exemplary model for leading the country out of recession; and therefore, we are seeking strong bipartisan support in Congress for grants and tax incentives needed to launch this global market opportunity domestically.
