USE OF THE MANUAL This manual has been written for your safety; please consider it as an integral part of the MACHINE your have purchased and keep it for future reference. The manual gives you information on the proper use of your MACHINE, on its technical features and the procedures for assembly and disassembly. It also supplies information on where to get maintenance and easy parts supplies. The manual reflects the state of the art when the MACHINE was sold and cannot be considered as inadequate just because it is later updated on based on subsequent experience. VIMOR reserves the right to introduce any change to the product and its INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL, with no obligation to update previous production and related manuals. VIMOR considers itself as free from any liability caused by improper use by untrained personnel, use in contrast with National Laws on Labour Safety, unauthorised modifications or changes, unauthorised parts, total or partial non-observance of the Instructions contained in this Manual. The MACHINE must be used by specialised operators experienced in the use of valuable and nonvaluable material industrial chain production machinery.

WARRANTY VIMOR guarantee their machines for a period of one year from the date of delivery (International Standards). The warranty will be valid only if the machine is used properly following all the instrcutions provided by us in the maintenance manual. Costs of consumable materials are not included in the warranty and are the responsibility of the customer.

TECHNICAL SERVICING To assist customers who have problems of a functional nature, the VIMOR tecnical servicing department is available. For spare machine parts or fittings, VIMOR has a well-furnished store.

3° GENERAL INDICATIONS A) MARKING The “LM” automatic machine for manufacture of ornamental chains bears a legible label on the Rigth side of the machine base (see drawing No. 1) on which data such as the manufacturer’s name,model, serial number, voltage and year of commercialization, etc. are marked.

B) NOISE LEVEL The “LM” was designed and built with a view to reducing sound pollution to a minimum. Laboratory tests on the machine produced results of under 70 DB. These values were obtained with the machine working under operating conditions. The results obtained are the fruit of careful study of all the different linkages and treatment of the metallic guards and the base with special sound-absorbing materials in order to reduce noise as much as possible.

4° INSTALLATION For correct installation and greater stability of the “LM”, act on the four adjustment bolts located in the base of the machine (see photo No. 2, item 1). A) SHIPPING The “LM” is packaged in such a way as to safeguard the product, ruling out all possibility of damage. The “LM” is securely anchored inside its packing case, wrapped in a vacuum envelope with rust-proof oils and dehydration salts to avoid the possibility of deterioration during lengthy periods in shipping. Weight of the machine is marked on the case, together with the symbols for correct positioning and movement of the case (see photo No. 3). The “LM” must be moved following the indications shown carefully (see photo No. 4).

B) UNPACKING After taking the “LM” out of its packing case, as illustrated in photo No. 5, a thorough cleaning of all the machine parts is recommended. The machine should preferably be installed in a well-lit room with, leaving a 6 m², working area surrounding temperature of approx. 20 ºC.

C) ELECTRICAL CONNECTION “LM” machine comes supplied with an electric plug, bearing an indication of the ground pin, which must be inserted in a mains outlet (see photo Nº 6 item 1). The maximum permitted absorption for this machine is 1 kW.

5° GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION A) COMMANDS All the “LM” electric commands are located on a "RACK" type panel on the machine right-hand side, in full view of the operator (see photo Nº 7).

B) STARTING Please see booklet enclose (Compact).

C) SECURYTI DEVICE “LM” machine has one (1) electronic device which have the specific automatic stop function in case of end of the wire (see photo Nº 8). In such way waste of materials (as gold and silver) is avoided and moreover, tooling of machine is scheltered. Quick working cycle is guarantee.

D) COMPRESSED AIR The "LM", can be equipped with a 6 bar air compressed system of reliable construction having all the requisites in order not to injure the operator.

6° GUARDS The “LM” has two types of guard, fixed guards (1) and movable of type "A" (2). The fixed guards are of an iron-based material and visible inspection material, are used to protect the rotating parts. They are anchored to the bearing structure by robust mechanical stops which can only be removed using a kit of tools supplied by VIMOR (see photo Nº 9 item 1). Movable guards of type "A",which limit access to groups of “LM”. Such little window has the specific function to permit a visible inspection of working cycle. (look at photo.9 part.2). These guards permit the indispensable maintenance and tuning work to be carried out without the need to remove them. When the operator opens the movable of type "A" during the cycle, the machine stops automatically. The machine has an electric device which, if interfered with, interrupts the electric circuit and thereby cuts off the power supply (see photo Nº 9 item 3). NB) Protection cover is supplied only for machines with CE certification

7° REGULATIONS (INSTRUCTIONS BOOKLET) This instructions booklet contains the essential information for correct regulation of all the assemblies of the “LM”. You are advised to follow carefully all the indications given by us.

GENERAL WARNINGS AND REGULATIONS The “LM” automatic machine for manufacture of ornamental chains consists of a set of mechanical assemblies put together in logic sequence in order to make the “LM” perfectly safe in all stages of the production cycle, installation, putting into service and maintenance. The machine is supplied with all the fittings needed for its regulation and maintenance without risk. This instruction booklet “7 REGULATIONS” must be read by the operator with great care before taking any other action. VIMOR wish to point out that they provide all potential customers with technical training courses free of charge on the VIMOR site in order to improve familiarity of buyers with operation, regulation and maintenance of the machine. In this way, before starting work operators may be fully aware of how the machine works and of the related commands and will appreciate the importance of following the recommended sequences. The VIMOR product has cast metal bearing structures, whereas all the other moving parts are in special, suitably treated steels. Even the cast iron is subjected to an aging treatment in the open air for long periods before being used in production. Aging of the cast iron is extremely important as this guarantees perfect stability of the machine in time, reinforcing its characteristics of robustness and reliability. The steels used for the moving parts are all special steels and are subjected to suitable heat treatment for hardness that signifies duration in time. To maintain and ensure long machine life, good, constant lubrication is essential. The tooling, a vital part of the machine, is built from steels with high resistance to wear. Upon request, this can be supplied in sintered material (Widia). All the screws for regulation of the assemblies are appropriately treated in order to guarantee sensitivity and accuracy of regulation. The machines may be supplied complete with a base, with D-C speed regulation drives. The automatic stop mechanism triggered should a chain fall is a production standard, thus providing a safeguard against useless wastes of precious material.

8° MAINTENANCE A) GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS Before undertaking any scheduled or unscheduled maintenance, first the electric power supply plug must be taken out. It is recommended that the work in question be carried out by qualified personnel. To guarantee perfect operation of the “LM” , it is important that only original VIMOR spare parts are used when replacing components. Following maintenance, ensure that all safety mechanisms are put back in place and are working.

B) LUBRICATION PUMP CHECK “LM” machine has a lubrication system feeded by a electric pump with a tank located behind the base.(See photo 10 item 1). Such hand pump must be inspected each 40 working hours so to guarantee a good efficency. NB) The starting and oil cheching of the electric pump, are automatic, as already set up in the "PLC" parameters.

C) PRODUCTS The fluid recommended by the manufacturers for lubrication of moving parts is the “ARM68V"(ROLOIL). By distributor, (See photo 11 item1) it enables adjustment at all points classed as necessary (see photo 11 item 2). It is suggested to change the oil about every 1500 working hours.

D) PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Verify frequently oil gauge in tank. Oil must be over minimum level, in case of wantage, add it (see photo 12 item 1). Moreover, ensure that the machine’s safety mechanisms are always kept clean and in good working order. Moreover the fixtures are to be in good condition for a better operating product. It is recommended that the work in question be carried out by qualified personnel.

9° DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIAL Oil replacement operation is made easier using the container located on base (See photo 12 item 2). Glover use is suggested so to avoid any physical contact. Used oil should be stocked and gave to autorized firms which will care for getting rid.
