Lloyds Bank meeting – an update

Having been selected to participate in the Tesco Bags of Help scheme and following a competitive voting period, Billingshurst Primary School Community Association (BPSCA) were absolutely delighted to recently be awarded a £2,000 grant towards their Forest School redevelopment project. Severe drainage issues, pond relocation, improving access, safeguarding measures, substantial landscaping work, replacement of storage facilities, provision of outdoor work stations and much more mean the grant is much appreciated. BPSCA would like to thank everyone who voted in-store during January and February. As a result of local support, Arbour Landscapes have been appointed and are hard at work on the transformation. It is thrilling that the children of Billingshurst Primary School will soon have access to a fantastic new Forest School!

Following Lloyds’ refusal to meet Parish Councillors in public on the 18th January, several Councillors met a team from Lloyds at the end of March. The Banking team had been sent the detailed notes from the public meeting, so they knew exactly what you thought! Following the meeting, Lloyds responded, replying to some of the points we made. A copy of their reply is on the front news page of our website. Whilst the meet was convivial, much discussion centred on the planned three-timesper-week visit to the Billingshurst Centre of their mobile banking van. It will be fully accessible and the hours can be changed if needed. We do hope residents will make good use of it to show that such services are still needed.

Neighbourhood Wardens At the time of writing, interviews are about to take place for the two Neighbourhood Warden positions for the parish. There were a number of applicants for the positions; keep an eye on our website and social media pages for an update on the chosen candidates.
