Officials break ground on new 911 center The IKE 911 Communication Center in Broadview to open April 2019 By MICHAEL ROMAIN Editor

Village officials from Broadview and Maywood gathered outside of the Broadview Municipal Building, 2350 S. 25th Ave. in Broadview, on July 25 for a groundbreaking ceremony on a 5,943-square-foot consolidated 911 dispatch center and on numerous renovations to the municipal building annexed to the center. The IKE 911 Communication Center is the result of an intergovernmental agreement signed by Maywood and Broadview earlier this year that formed the Ike Joint Emergency Telephone System. Maywood and Broadview teamed up after a new state law, which requires municipalities with populations of fewer than 25,000 residents to consolidate their 911 dispatch systems, took effect in January 2016.
