A week before lawmakers in Springfield voted to pass a bill that would make recreational marijuana legal in the state of Illinois, residents from across Proviso Township gathered in Bellwood to voice their opinions on what was then still pending legislation. The village of Broadview opened its renovated municipal center at 2350 S. 25th Ave. to the public on June 1. Officials
celebrated the occasion with a ribboncutting and tour. The new digs include newly renovated village administrative offices, upgraded and enhanced building and police
