On May 11, the Proviso Township High School District 209 school board will vote on employment contracts, including those in excess of $150,000. D209 has posted the list online at www.pths209.org/Page/4489. These contracts include those for administrators, such as principals, and the list reveals a new administrative structure, which includes grade level principals, although a description of that position is not included. During a regular meeting on May 4, the Maywood Board of Trustee votes unanimously on a resolution supporting developer Jacob Karamol’s request for a Class 6b property tax incentive. Karamol, the owner and managing principal of Oak Brook-based Development Solutions Inc., is leading the effort to turn the 126,000 square-foot Supreme Catering building at 1900 S. Maywood Drive in Maywood into a roughly 78,000 square-foot modern warehouse facility. Karamol is listed as the main contact for
1900 Maywood LLC, the title holder of the property, which is requesting the Class 6b incentive, without which the development group said it will not purchase the property because the local property taxes are too high. Mark Rogers, an attorney who presented the proposal to the trustee board on behalf of the developers, said the former Supreme Catering building, which sits on approximately 216,000 square feet of land, is more than 70 years old and is now functionally obsolete.
