Two Maywood employees have been diagnosed with COVID-19, Maywood Village Manager Willie Norfleet said during a COVID-19 town hall held April 14. At the meeting, Norfleet also announced that the village is extending its state of emergency by another month to May 31. The manager added that the village may also establish a 6 p.m. cutoff point for all liquor sold in the village. Norfleet indicated that the confirmed cases were both in the community development department, which the manager has since shut down. Norfleet first announced that there were possible cases of COVID-19 within Village Hall during a regular board meeting on April 7, when he said that a retired village worker had also tested positive for the virus.
