Leaders in Bellwood, Broadview and Maywood are brainstorming ways to persuade community members to take the upcoming census and at two events that took place in Maywood and Broadview on Saturday, there was an all-hands-on-deck sense of urgency. If those communities are undercounted, as they were in 10 years ago, critical resources, funds and even congressional representation could disappear. Amazon to move into old Maywood Park Racetrack

The Chicago Tribune broke the news on Jan. 6 that Amazon was planning to move into the Chariot Logistics Center, the
industrial and retail development going up on the site of the old Maywood Park racetrack at 8600 W. North Ave. in Melrose Park. In December 2018, Melrose Park annexed
Maywood Park, which closed in 2015 after going into bankruptcy. The village acquired the site from the Cook County Board of Commissioners. See AMAZON on page 3
