Have you heard the buzz?

The Whatcom Literacy Council’s Annual Trivia Bee is Friday, October 1st.

Join the Whatcom Literacy Council Friday, October 1 from 7pm to 9pm for the 2021 online Trivia Bee. Scotty VanDryver of KAFE Radio and Ken Jennings of Jeopardy! fame will co-host this battle of wits as teams of three compete once again for the traveling Totten Trophy. Ryan Budds returns with his slick virtual format which immediately calculates who answers correctly in the quickest amount of time.

You’ll have a great night of fun while helping the WLC help others. All proceeds support the Whatcom Literacy Council’s efforts to provide literacy tutoring to adults in Whatcom County. Teams are forming now. Contact events@whatcomliteracy.org for team registration ($75 for three players) and information about sponsorships. It's always a blast!

TEA WITH NANCY PEARL! Seriously! Nancy is donating a book discussion for up to 12 people on the afternoon of December 11. She will come to your home to talk about BOOKS; holiday refreshments will be provided. This would make a lovely holiday treat for a book club! Watch for the links to the auction posted on the Literacy Council FaceBook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts as well as the whatcomliteracy.com website. The auction is open to EVERYONE!

Literacy Breakfast with Nancy Pearl Friday, November 5, 8am - 9am

This year's Literacy Breakfast with Nancy Pearl will be a virtual event from 8am to 9am on Friday, November 5th. Bring your own coffee as the Literacy Council shares highlights of their services and author/librarian/NPR commentator Nancy Pearl offers her book recommendations for the year. Pearl's book list will be linked to the Village Books website for easy shopping­— a percentage of sales will be dontated to WLC. Registration is required and will be available via whatcomliteracy.org; a donation supporting the adult literacy programs of the Whatcom Literacy Council is expected. Thank You for Shopping Local.
