Popular dance forms of Chhattisgarh are: 1. Pandawani 2. Raut Nacha 3. Sua Nacha 4. Panthi 5. Karma 6. Saila These are known as Chhattisgadhi Folk Dance. These all are related to god worship, culture and their religion.
Pandwani is the traditional Folk Dance of Chhattisgarh in which artists depict the story of Pandavas, the leading character in the epic Mahabharat. There are two styles of narration in Pandvani, Vedamati and Kapalik.
Raut Nacha is performed by the general population of "yadavs/yaduvanshis" group. It is an image of appreciation towards Lord Krishna.
It is a symbolic form of dancing related to worship. Popularly known as the parrot dance. The performers sing and dance moving around with clapping. This traditional form of dancing is performed by keeping a parrot in a bamboo-pot and form a circle around it.
Panthi, the society move of the Satnami group, has religious suggestions. Panthi is performed on Maghi Purnima, the commemoration of the conception of Guru Ghasidas.
Karma is a famous festival which begins from the 11th day of the Bhadrab month during autumn season. The Binjahal, Kharia, Oraon, Kisan, Kol and other tribals perform the karma dance during the karma festival.
The Saila tribal dance of Chhattisgarh in India is performed after the season for the harvests is over. Saila Dance is the folk dance of Chhattisgarh. Saila dance is a stick-dance that is popular in many regions of the State.
There are various sorts of tribal gatherings in India and Chhattisgarh is home to an impressive parcel of them.
