CAREER OBJECTIVE: An oasis in the desert, the splendid architecture of the buildings in Dubai, the glitz and the glamour of Dubai where an old world co-exists with a modern world are my inspirations where I grew up. 1st store opening for Berrylands London at Madina Mall, Al Qusais, Dubai – 15th July, 2012 with Brand retail format, merchandise sourcing & buying & Store operations.

Designed & Launched UAE local Kids Fashion Brand- Freej – 20 August, 2009.

Designed & Launched India Based Kids Fashion Brand design to operations – Ant – 20th July, 2008 at Clothing Manufacturing association of India ( CMAI) at Mumbai.

KEY ROLE & RESPONSIBLITIES: Sourcing, Buying & merchandising: Developing the merchandising strategies for the product line, store and organization. Traveling locally & internationally on frequent visits to suppliers & manufacturers at China, Hong Kong, India and Srilanka. Planning using OTB calculations, looking over store inventories and selecting merchandise assortments for a store. Negotiations with vendors for favorable terms and services are a delicate issue. Pricing the merchandise to achieve the required targets in terms of gross margins. Inventory management – allocation of merchandise to the store. Making a markdown and brand promotions every quarterly for slow moving merchandise. managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits. analyzing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning Brand & store total operations. Manages and improves the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning Manages and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services provided by HR, IT, Finance through coordination and communication between support and business functions. Contributes to short and long-term organizational planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence. Oversees overall operational, financial and resources management, planning, systems and controls with the CEO. Develops and maintains annual budget with the CEO. Performs on-going in-depth analysis of sales, sales agreement and promotion performance data Measures and reports sales & profit performance on a regular basis. Performs other tasks as required by the GM – Department Looking over the total work operations of the store on continuous sale without any loss of sale and timely looking over the staff performance in store, Direct talk with the sales personals on the customer feedback for new merchandise launched and slow moving merchandise. Daily visits to the store during the evening to ensure all items are displayed and the interior is maintained as per standards.

Supply chain management & logistics. Looks over the items purchased as per the orders placed. Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control; Effectively control the total supply chain from suppliers to store premises, working closely with the central warehouse. Handle all Supply Chain Management issues for the home division. In charge of relationship management with suppliers (Far East and Europe). Monitor supplier performance against agreed SLA’s and a range of complex KPI’s to ensure the objectives of the division are met. Continually evaluate processes (including warehouse practices) to identify efficiency gains, address performance gaps within the division and recommend appropriate action to ensure improvement. Develop and manage a first class inventory management and stock replenishment system in close liaison with suppliers and internal business managers.

Ensure proper assortment planning and inventory budgeting by asst. buyers Ensure proper allocation of merchandise based on sales trends and demand Plan customer loyalty programs and merchandise return from stores to warehouse Ensure customer surveys are undertaken and implemented across stores Ensure proper equipment and fixture planning for new stores Ensure that visual standards are communicated and implemented across stores directly or through visual merchandiser Visits stores regularly and understand key issues with brands Meet few customers to gain first hand understanding of brand performance, gaps in assortment and merchandise, customer services, etc Communicate issues to Asst Merchandise manager and plan course of action Ensure regular training is provided to buyers, operations team, visual merchandiser, etc as required

EXECUTION ACTIVITIES             

Undertake sales forecasting and monitoring of inventory levels across select brands. Undertake pricing activities for brands based on pre-defined markups. Participate in setting sales targets for specific brands. Undertake stock transfers across locations based on sales trends and inputs from asst. buyers. Implement marketing, cross selling activities and media planning activities for advertising by coordinating with marketing coordinator Undertake promotions across brands along with assistance from asst. manager/ buyers. Undertake competition and store visits on a regular basis and take appropriate action. Coordinate with freight supervisor to track merchandise ordered Provide inputs to merchandise manager and asst. merchandise manager for improving brand performance & undertaking brand rationalization/ evaluation Build and maintain relationship with external agencies including suppliers, principals, show sponsors, magazine editors, etc Undertake problem solving activities related to asst. managers and buyers Assist projects manager and provide inputs for new store opening Prepare and forward MIS on a pre-defined basis as required.
