As we look ahead to next year’s festival, I am writing to ask if any organisations could help me in 2012 with the following: Can your organisation help carry our collection containers on the day with the festival parade working as a group? Do you know of any group or organisation who could assist with helping to set up the parade on the morning of the 7th July 2012 working together with our festival committee to ensure that the parade is ready and in position? If you can help with the above, Please send me an email: Thank-you And finally I would like to thank View for all its valuable help in advertising the Altrincham Festival which is the “Biggest Free Show in Trafford” May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2012. Your Christmas makeover... At Laserina Clinic we use advanced cutting edge technology to restore the skin to its younger, smoother and radiant complexion. From Ultrasonic exfoliation to DERMALIFT non-surgical Face Lift, IPL photo-rejuvenation and DERMAL massage by Endermologie to tips on how to maintain your result for longer, a team of experienced medical practitioners use every trick in the book to make loose years of your face and body. Appearance is everything, and it’s not what age you are, but how old your friends and family think you look that counts. Once the course of treatments is complete, our clients hear regular comments from people around them on how much younger they look and how fresher their skin is. It is not a secret that we all want to sparkle, especially at the Christmas party & make heads turn! IPL photo-rejuvenation uses new advanced light technology and works by replenishing healthy energy level within skin cells which allows re-modeling collagen, reduction of large pores, brightening and tightening of the skin, evening tone and removing the consequences of sun damage such as red vessels and brown/age spots. DERMALIFT, the non-surgical facelift, doesn’t use electrical currents, dermabrasion or injections and is a completely natural procedure that gives the face a mechanical ‘work-out’ improving the skin elasticity and tone. It’s especially good for firming up and lifting specific zones.

very Thursday is Jolanga Sessions, a new open mic night at The Green Room in Altrincham’s Goose Green. We met with organiser Tom Ainsworth for more info. However it has turned out great night for the musicians of the local area, everyone get involved so far. We didn’t expect anyone on the first night yet people still in the night. The Green Room came and got involved. The idea was the perfect venue for us is that everyone is welcome, as it is a stylish modern bar in whatever you play or whether a vibrant part of town. We also get many musicians who just like to turn up and jam with others. As I said, everyone is welcome, however it is a bar so bring your ID’s!

unday 13th November saw 1st Timperley Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and other youth organisations, attending Timperley Methodist church. 2 minutes silence was observed, before the various groups laid wreaths, and attended a short service inside the church. Credit should be given to the youths who attended, who were a credit to themselves and their parents etc, Their behaviour and appearance was beyond reproach. I think it important that young children are reminded of the sacrifices that have been made. These days more and more families have relatives or friends in the various armed forces and are respectful of the people who have died in armed conflict. All too often I hear people say: I can’t be bothered with all that. I don’t do Politics or religion I don’t believe in war or glorifying it. People I feel who say that, loose sight of the meaning of the whole thing. It has nothing to do with Politics or religion. It is about respecting the sacrifice’s made by people, usually very young people, who gave up their lives whilst attempting to make the world a better place to live in. Should they have been there? People will have their own views on that. Personally I have no real interest in either religion or politics, but I can and do respect the people who have died in various conflicts. It is one day a year. It usually only involves wearing a poppy and being quiet for 2 minutes. Is that asking too much? I think not. Steve Marsh 1st Timperley (Tryfan Scout leader).

Use an Architect to extend your home

n extension can radically transform your home, whether by adding extra bedrooms, adding a downstairs WC, utility room or creating larger living spaces. One current trend is to create a light, open plan, family room integrating the main living, dining and kitchen spaces whilst providing better access to the family garden. It is easy to see why people want to create a space where the whole family can be together, even if everyone is doing something different. If you are considering extending your home, it pays to speak to a local, qualified and experienced Architect who can bring creative solutions to maximise the potential of the spaces. Designing an extension or remodelling your home is not something to be undertaken lightly and an Architect can guide you through the process of obtaining planning and building control approval and realising your project in

Timperley celebrates its Young entrepreneurs

wo Timperley lads, Aaron Poole (aged 22) and Nathan Lloyd (aged 19), have teamed up together to start their own business called ‘Forever Green Gardening Service.’ The business aims to help people with basic garden maintenance at really competitive prices starting at just £10. Aaron said ‘We realised that jobs are few and far between at the moment, and both Nathan and I have just been laid off, so we thought we should just go for it and do something ourselves’. Paul Huxley from the local charity G-Force agreed to

help the lads. Since starting, the business has grown from strength to strength. Paul said ‘ It is great to see two young people wanting to make their own way in life and supporting young people in doing this is what GForce is all about’. The lads are using all the money earned to pay for driving lessons and save up to buy their own company van. Timperley should be proud of these two young entrepreneurs. If you would like a quote for your garden maintenance please ring one of the numbers above.

The Friends of Moss Park Gardens N ovember is a month for remembering and reflecting.

However, I don’t want to take you back to the time of the great wars, just two years to November 2009. At that time, the seed of an initiative was sewn to try and pull together a group of local residents who were committed to restoring the gardens on the corner of Moss Lane and Park Road. The group, all 13 of them, met for the first time in January last year. They faced lots of challenges. They had no money to finance the restoration, no plants, no water or electricity on site and no compost material to improve the very poor condition of the soil. However, with their combined enthusiasm and ingenuity, all these challenges ( except the electricity ) have been overcome. The electricity challenge was an interesting one because at the back of the site is an electricity sub-station which has been supplying power to the locality for 60 years. Unfortunately, we can not “plug in” to it.

The treatment can be gruelling and it is hard watching someone we love undergoing treatment and coping with the side effects. The Venetian Christmas Mansion at Tatton Park

isitors to Tatton Park mansion will be greeted with ‘Buon natale!’ this Christmas, as Venice inspires our seasonal theme. The stunning staterooms of the mansion at Tatton Park in rural Cheshire East will be spectacularly dressed to reflect the extravagance and sophistication of Venice.

01925 210669

Venetian splendour will be brought to the English country home with striking displays inspired by the drama of ‘carnevale.’ Trees dressed with peacock feathers and decorative birds in gilded cages are just some of the spectacular delights of the Christmas decorations (though we won’t give anything else away!). These dramatic new displays will enhance our usual traditional Christmas decorations. This Christmas, as in previous years, the floristry team will also be undertaking the enormous task of crafting, by hand, the miles of festive garlands and wreathes used to dress the Mansion’s grand staterooms.
