Calendar - Week at a Glance

Trunk or Treat

It is that time of year again. On Wednesday, October 30, our parking lot will be filled with families from our community. This is an opportunity for us to serve our neighbors by offering a safe area for families with small children to trick or treat. This ministry is a combined effort with our friends at Vienna Methodist. They will be serving dinner at the park while cars are lining up in our parking lot with decorated trunks full of candy. You can help make this event a success by doing a few things. 1. Sign up to participate in decorating your trunk. The trunk decorating competition brings out the creative and competing spirit in folks. Prizes will be given and the kids love seeing the themed trunks and costumes. 2.You can donate candy. Every year more than 100 kids come through Trunk or Treat. We do not want to run out of candy. Look for donation boxes around the church. 3. Come and be the welcoming, friendly and smiling face of Jesus to the people of our community. You are His ambassadors and on this night you have the opportunity to greet hundreds in His name.

Lord’s Supper

Please join us this Sunday as we remember the sacrifice of our Lord by sharing in the Lord’s Supper. This is a special time for us as a church family.

Deacon Nominating Committee

The Deacon Nominating Committee will be asking you to prayerfully confirm their recommendations for new deacons to begin serving in 2014. Please be in prayer for these men and their families: James Reuben Akin Frank Hulsey Paul Prosser David Sanders

Operation Christmas Child

You can provide the gift of Christmas to a child who lives in a place of hopelessness and poverty. The amazing thing is that you can do that by simply filling a shoebox with $7.00 and some toys. Instructions can be found in your SS classroom or in the Sanctuary along with boxes you can use to pack your gift. Please return your gifts to the front of the Sanctuary by Sunday, November 24.
