Song of Offertory

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” - Luke 15:20

Virtue for April

Friendship

Friendship is spending time with someone you trust and enjoy.  “A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when trouble comes.” Proverbs 17:17

Kidstuf (Children’s Church)

We are making a few changes to Kidstuf (Children’s Church). Beginning in April Kidstuf ages will be K5 - 2nd grade. We feel this gives our families the best opportunity for their younger children to worship and learn in a more age appropriate environment. It also gives the older kids a chance to begin worshipping with their parents and observe and participate in the ordinances.

Youth Mission Trip June 8 - 14 - Cherokee, NC

Our teenagers are heading to Cherokee in June to join with other teens from across the country to assist the people of Cherokee with various community projects. The cost is $200 per person this includes food, lodging, supplies for the various projects and rafting trip.

Graduate Recognition

Each year our church family enjoys celebrating our young scholars by recognizing their graduation milestone. If you have a class of 2013 graduate at your house we would like to recognize them during a special service in May. Please let us know as soon as possible and send us about 10 pictures (digital always preferred) to use in our slide presentation.

Brotherhood Breakfast

Sunday, April 14, 8:00 am in Providence Hall

“Sing With Understanding” Luncheon

Tuesday, April 23 at 12:00 noon Dr. Harry Eskew, retired Hymnody Professor from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will be enriching the lives of those that participate in this time of worship. Dr. Eskew was part of the Hymnal Committee that compiled the 91’ Baptist Hymnal that is used in the santuary at VFBC. Dr. Eskew’s passion for singing the hymns of faith is contagious and his knowledge of the hymns will strengthen your understanding. The Fellowship Committee would greatly appreciate a call to the church office (268-4386) with your plans to attend by Monday, April 22.

The Family of Brunell Allen

wishes to thank the church for preparing the meal following Brunell’s funeral service. Your kindness and generosity is appreciated.
