HELLO BONJOUR Z D R AV O

From me,

ABOUT ME / O SEBI

I am a creative and passionate final year student of Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. I come from a small but incredibly beautiful country Slovenia, from a tiny village in the countryside close to the Alps and Adriatic Sea.

I am tenacious, self-challenging, highly dedicated to work and enthusiastic about the world. My work is delicate and individual with a high level of detail.

Sem vztrajna, zahtevna, posvečena delu in navdušena nad svetom. Moje delo odseva nežnost, unikatnost in preciznost.

SUSTAINABILITY TRAJNOSTNI RAZVOJ Creating something new, visually strong and appealing is of great importance to me. In my dissertation and major negotiated project, I explored the role of graphic designers in sustainable design and came to believe we have the power to educate, inspire and facilitate new trends. Sustainability, being one of them, still has a lot of room for visual improvement. For example, sustainable packaging is often covered in green, even though

green can never be green as in ecologically sound because of the way it is made. It is one of the areas where I wish to get more informed on the topic and realise my ambition of creating something new, something better. Ustvarjanje nečesa novega, vizualno močnega in privlačnega je velikega pomena zame. V diplomski nalogi sem raziskovala vlogo grafičnih oblikovalcev

Competition brief for a UK leading print supplier. Brand and identity design for their letterpress studio. My idea points out the beauty of details and their asset of printing tiny sizes, so the mailer consists of a magnifying glass with all information written very small.

Tekmovalni projekt oblikovanje identitete in kampanje za vodilnega britanskega tiskarja. Moja ideja poudari lepoto detajlov in njihove sposobnosti tiskanja majhnih velikosti, zato promocija vsebuje poveÄ?evalno steklo in na drobno napisane informacije.

ATTENTIVE TO DETAIL

passionate strastna

WHO I AM / KDO SEM ˙˙Luxury is in each detail.˙˙ Hubert De Givenchy

Graphic design and illustration are my two greatest passions. I love creating expressive typography, delicate illustrations and simplistic but strong designs. I delight in identity and editorial design. In most projects designer has to work within a client’s boundaries, however with each project the designer has an opportunity to put their stamp

on it and express their creative flair. As a designer you have an opportunity to add to diversity of visual communication that is present everywhere around us. Grafično oblikovanje in ilustracija sta dve moji največji strasti. Rada ustvarjam izrazne tipografije, nežne ilustracije in preprosto, a efektivno oblikovanje.

Najbolj se navdušujem nad oblikovanjem celostne grafične podobe in editoriala. V večini projektov mora oblikovalec upoštevati meja stranke, vendar z vsako idejno zasnovo pride priložnost, da pusti svoj pečat in izrazi svoj ustvarjalni čut.

There Was A Boy, 2013 An illustrated book. Illustrations made by using water and pigment colour, pen and dip pen. Text: Gaj Lević

As part of a bookmaking module, I designed and illustrated a book which I named There Was a Boy. It is an illustrated poetic story about a lost boy, who wanders around the world to find his home. All text and illustrations are hand rendered.

Kot del predmeta izdelovanje knjige, sem oblikovala in ilustrirala knjigo, ki sem jo poimenovala There Was a Boy. Ves tekst in ilustracije so ročno delo.

my work was chosen for an online creative exhibition by we love your books. moj projekt je bil izbran za spletno kreativno razstavo s strani we love your books.

A reconstructed a book, related to a theme of ‘point of direction’. Wooden structure as a globe, hanging boats represent people, the journey. Letters for North, South, East and West represent our points of direction. The boy character in the boat,

as well as the text, are taken from the illustrated book There Was a Boy that was a part of the same bookmaking module. Rekonstrukcija knjiga, povezana na dano temo “točka smeri”. Lesena konstrukcija globusa,

viseče ladje, ki predstavljajo ljudi in naše potovanje. Oznake za sever, jug, vzhod in zahod predstavljajo naše točke smeri. Deček v čolnu in izrezljano besedilo so povzeti iz knjige There Was a Boy, katere oblikovanje je bilo tudi del predmeta izdelovanje knjige.

Côte d’Azur, late September, by Gaj Levic

We found ourselves sitting on a couple of beach towels. We were trying to collect our thoughts, while waiting to get a whiff of a strong morning brew. Our knees were sore and our necks stiff having had a little too much wine the night before, forcing us to find lodgings in our travel-weary car. The restless sleep may have had something to do with it, but as I put my arm around my girl and seeing my friends enjoying the morning sun, warm cup in hand, I felt stirrings deep within my stomach which led to a sort of guilt, as if not really deserving the warmth I felt from such simple a pleasure.

We finished our coffee and, now having the strength, rushed into the commotion of the waves. The girls swam, as we boys built sand castle equipped with thick walls, tall towers and a moat. “Let the bastards try,” said my fellow mason, planting into the middle of the stronghold a flag we made from a stick and some washed up cloth. But sure enough, after a few, the sea leveled it with the sand we stood on. The girls came out with dry hair, as they sometimes do. Then, having shared some laughs, all of us sat still. Staring into the horizon with the same stupid look you get while watching a camp fire.

Colours of Provence Every feeling has its own particular colour. So does a city, or a country. Grand Canyon du Verdon is coloured in sea green in the evening, while during the day, the lake reflects sun light and gives the park a turquoise tint. Valensole is with no doubt a city covered in lavender purple. Roussillon itself is known as the ocre-red village. Entering to Lourmarin, an idiosyncratic village which for a reason belongs among the most beautiful ones in Provence, a visitor is welcomed by an avenue of Platanus acerifolias, creating a beatific atmosphere. Colour of this old village depends on each separate visitor. Its winding narrow streets, old restored houses, public squares with lovely cafes where

you can immerse yourself, Lourmarin embodies with whatever colour that makes you feel joyful. Filled with art galleries and craft shops, it is a place where hand-on skills are most appreciated. There is nothing better than a relaxing wandering walk, followed by a stop for a while in a local cafe whilst reflecting on a gentile Provençal ambiance that constantly oozes from every street and corner. Such a little yet so lovely place where life is all about carpe diem. “Quatre café crème, quatre croissants et deux baguettes, s’il vous plaît.”
