Principal’s Report (10 min) ‐ Deb is away until Monday and Donna Sinclair is away with a broken ankle ‐ Report cards are being prepared and will be sent home on Monday, Dec. 15th ‐ The Christmas concert is coming together and the choir will sing in the afternoon performance and possibly the evening as well. Extra tickets will be released on Friday. ‐ The Rain Garden Committee has marked the plants to be kept and those to be removed ‐ The paths of the garden will be power washed to remove the slippery moss but the drainage needs to be checked first. Now that the garden will be pruned regularly, mossy sidewalks should no longer be a problem. ‐ Art Start will be performing Dumpsta Dragons and Story Theatre came today to perform for the school. The school received a grant for $450 but does rely on the PAC to provide the rest (approx. $1600 a year for two performances). PAC members explained how hard it is to prepare for the following year’s budget without knowing how much fieldtrip money the teachers are going to use. The idea of asking the parent’s of the students to send their child with $5 each for the fieldtrip and then the PAC paying for the rest was discussed. In the end, it was agreed that the teachers need to earmark the money by February so that the rest can be given to the school for the following school year’s Art and Culture performances (some need to be booked 6 months in advance). ‐ The School is collecting for Crystal and her family after her husband was killed in a car accident in Kamloops. Crystal was an important member of our school community for many years.
