Victor Soma Born: 1978

Victor Soma is universally recognized in Poland as an authority on the subject of posters, one of the continuators of famous Polish School Of Posters (1950— 80), which was able to make the distincion between the designer and artist less apparent. Victor Soma uses lots of aesthetics and styles, suggestive visual metaphors, bold and bizarre associations with surreal flavour as important addition. He likes pop surrealism, graphic novels (Moebius, Chris Ware, Tom Gauld), deconstructivism and Hans Bellmer’s drawings. — 20+ years of experience as a professional visual artist: illustrator, drawer, graphic designer (books, magazines, covers, posters, websites, CI), motion designer, comic book artist, set designer, art director; — member of Locus Solus Group (with acclaimed stage designer Michał Urban), team of artists creating narrative museum exhibitions; — artistic editor of few polish magazines; — prolific press illustrator, working for main magazines and newspapers in Poland (Rzeczpospolita, Machina, Przekrój, Puls Biznesu, Film, Sukces, Playboy, City Magazine, Witaj w podróży, My Company etc.); — creator of visual identity for main polish festivals (Divine Comedy International Theatre Festival in Krakow and Cracow Screen Festival) and cultural institutions, theatres, ; — awards (graphic novels, book covers, posters, design, illustrations); — board game designer; — he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Technical University of Krakow.
