THE CHALLENGE OF THE PROJECT WAS TO LOCATE THE LARGEST EXHIBITION AREA IN A SMALL SPACE. THAT WAS SOLVED BY PLACING SHOP SHELVES ON THE DOUBLE-HEIGHT WALL. MOST OF THE SHOP COUNTERS ARE ON THE GROUND FLOOR, WHILE THE MEZZANINE WAS USED TO LOCATE THE STOCK AND A KIND OF WORKSHOP FOR GUEST DESIGNERS. THE PLACE WAS CONCEIVED CLADDED IN MONOCHROMATIC TONES: POLISHED CONCRETE ON FLOORS, APPARENT AGED CONCRETE FOR WALLS AND IN SCREENS OF CONCRETE BLOCKS FOR SHOP WINDOWS. FIXED FURNITURE WAS DESIGNED WITH LOCAL RECINTO STONE, LIGHT ASH WOOD AND ACCENTS IN COPPER. TEXTILES LIKE HENEQUÉN AND LINEN IN DARK GREEN TONES AND LOCAL VEGETATION COMPLEMENT THE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENT. VICTOR RIVERA ZAVALA

THE PROJECT IS INSPIRED IN JAPANESE ARCHITECTURE WHERE THE USE OF COMPLEX WOOD ASSEMBLIES IS PREDOMINANT. THE RESULT IS A FRAMEWORK OF REPEATED WOODEN ELEMENTS HOLD TOGETHER WITH A METALLIC EXOSKELETON THAT SHOW THE GOODS INWARDS AND OUTWARDS FROM THE MALL KIOSK. IN THE. MIDDLE OF THE SHOP, STANDS A MONOLITHIC STONE VOLUME WHERE THE CASH-WRAP AND SMALLER ACCESSORIES WERE INSTALLED. THE IDEA IS TO USE NOBLE AND REGIONAL MATERIALS THAT CAN PROJECT A UNIQUE IDENTITY LINKED TO THE LOCAL CHARACTER OF THE PRODUCTS EXHIBITED THERE. *IN COLLABORATION WITH MIGUEL GARCÍA SANABRIA

CASA GARZA

QUERÉTARO, MEXICO 2017

THE PROJECT IS INSPIRED BY THE FUNCTIONALISM OF THE INTERNATIONAL STYLE, TAKING AS REFERENCE THE PATIO HOUSES OF MIES VAN DER ROHE THAT ALLOWED THE VENTILATION AND NATURAL LIGHTING OF ALL THE SPACES, AS WELL AS PROVIDING AN EXPERIENCE OF DISCOVERY WHEN GOING THROUGH THE ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAM. THE EXTERIOR MATERIALS IN WALLS ARE HONEY-COLORED BRICK WITH CONCRETE BASEBOARDS. THE EXTERIOR CORRIDORS HAVE BLACK ADOCRETO AND THE INTERIORS ARE COVERED WITH CERAMIC FLOORING THAT RESEMBLES TRAVERTINE MARBLE. INSIDE PARTITIONS ARE FINISHED IN OFFWHITE PLASTER. AGED WOOD PLANKS COVER CLOSETS, BATHROOM COUNTERS AND DOORS. THE COURTYARDS ARE IDEAL FOR LUSH GARDENS. *IN COLLABORATION WITH MIGUEL GARCÍA SANABRIA

THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF 3 RESTAURANTS WITH DIFFERENT SPECIALTIES THAT BELONG TO THE AMENITIES PROGRAM IN A HOTEL TO BE BUILT IN CANCUN. THE THREE PREMISES (ASIAN, MEXICAN AND ITALIAN) SHARE A TERRACE WHERE THE FURNITURE IS HOMOGENEOUS. IT IS UNTIL YOU ENTER A RESTAURANT THAT THE PARTICULAR CHARACTER OF EACH SPACE IS NOTED. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE FINISHES, LAYOUT DESIGN, FURNITURE AND LIGHTING. THE RESULT IS A GASTRONOMIC CORRIDOR THAT OFFERS DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS AND EXPERIENCES.
