Season 2012/13

Vista Paine Farm With breathtaking views, Vista Paine is situated in Pueblito RĂo Serrano 2km from the Torres del Paine National Park. Owned by the same family for three generations, the farm is still worked in the traditional ways using horses and dogs. The reins, saddles and halters are made during the long winters using the hides from our own cattle. We offer horse riding, camping, a comfy cabaĂąa and transfers into and around the Torres del Paine National Park all year round. Base yourself here and experience the traditional Patagonian way of life during your visit to the Torres del Paine National Park.

Vista Paine 2 Hour Ride Río Nutria This ride takes us along the Río Serrano where the Río Grey joins. See the amazing blues of the two rivers combining. From there we cut across the pampas and head through a large laguna and into the woodlands. Here we follow a gentle track where we can see native trees; Lenga, Coigüe and Ñirre and birds such as the Austral Parakeet and Magellanic Woodpecker. The ride finishes back at Vista Paine.

Vista Paine Torres del Paine Rides Laguna Linda (3 hours) A gentle ride that crosses the pampas close to Administration until Laguna Linda where we take a trail around the lake. This ride has good views of the Torres del Paine mountains and the River Paine.

Esmeralda (4-5 hours) A ride through woodlands and open pampas little known inside the National Park, with a chance to see local birds and animals. This ride has great views and long stretches of pampas ideal for cantering and galloping, or can be gentle for walking and trotting for beginners.

Salto RĂo Serrano (5 hours) A ride along trails through woods and open steppe. There is a chance to see local birds and animals. This ride has long stretches of pampas and arrives at the waterfall on the RĂo Serrano. We follow another trail back to Administration through the woods and across pampas, with great views of the Torres del Paine mountains.

Vista Paine Torres del Paine Rides (cont.) Viewpoint Grey Glacier (5 hours) From Administration we ride across the windy pampas with great views of the Torres del Paine mountains in front of us. The view of the Grey Glacier is from the southern end of the lake which gives a good impression of the vastness of this wild place.

Laguna Verde (8 hours) From Administration we climb up towards Estancia Lazo. There are great views of the Torres del Paine mountains and en route we pass through woods and open steppe. It is a long climb and at the top we are rewarded with spectacular views and the beautiful Laguna Verde. We ride back through similar countryside via a different route.

Vista Paine Multiday Rides (cont.) Balmaceda (3 days) After a good breakfast at Lago Brush (see previous page) we ride through unspoilt countryside along deserted trails for a further 4 to 5 hours. During this time you will be mesmerised by the views and scenery. We arrive at a small puesto (refuge) where we will make camp. We will cook a hearty dinner and dine beside the majestic RĂo Serrano. In the morning we ride for approximately 1 hour to Hosteria Balmaceda where you can take a boat back to Puerto Natales, passing Glaciers Serrano and Balmaceda and stopping at Estancia Perales for a typical Patagonian asado. You arrive back in Puerto Natales at around 5pm. Another option for this ride is to sleep in the Hosteria Balmaceda, instead of camping, where you can have a hot shower and sleep in a comfy bed for the last night in the wild! We can organise other horse riding experiences so if you need a tailormade ride please contact us to discuss your ideas.
